Fabulous Florals

Today's Moxie Fab World guest blogger is Heather Campbell. And here's Heather!

Happy Thursday Moxie Fabbers!  It’s Heather Campbell here and I am so excited to be here today on the Moxie Fab World blog.

Keeping with the theme of sharing trends based upon our favorite Moxie Fab World posts, I found it really difficult to pick just one.  Everything Cath posted in Moxie Fab World left me completely inspired, especially her Tuesday Triggers.

Looking back at the Tuesday Triggers, I found this trigger and felt totally inspired.

Whether whimsical or water colored, florals are all over the home décor and paper crafting world right now.  Floral arrangements are taking center stage in a beautiful way.  They’re accented by laurel branches and leaves, clustered around banners, arranged into wreaths, and even balance chalkboard or bold calligraphy perfectly. I found a few examples to share with you.

These hand painted tags are stunning and the colors are perfection.

I actually love this so much I bought it for my own home.  I love the painted feel to the petals and leaves and the wreath arrangement is so lovely.

This chair would look so pretty next to it, too!  (Or maybe in my craft room!)

Banners are another trend that compliments floral softness so well!

This is just sweet and simple.  Anyone who knows me is aware just how much I love bows so this one around the mason jar makes me swoon.
With all of that inspiration, I had to come up with my own card.

I used the brand new Avery Elle Thanks a Bunch stamp set to create my card. Yes friends, it just released today and I have a stamp set to share with you!

Avery Elle

Leave a comment by midnight EST Friday, December 6 telling me what your favorite color combination when it comes to floral images to enter to win!  I also have another project on my personal blog which uses this same stamp set, so pop over for even more inspiration.

Thank you for letting me join you today in Moxie Fab World!  I hope you have a great day!
-Heather

Heather, this post totally ROCKS!! So many great pieces of inspiration and I love your own card created with that awesome new set!

My favourite colour combination for flowers? Hmm, tricky! I really like the softer palettes that build tone-on-tone colours in pinks, but my favourites are unexpected combos like blue with green, and pinks with browns. Those are awesome on multi-step stamped images!!

Yay Heather! I love just about any project created with these whimsical blooms lately. And although the pinky versions always look nice, I've seen some lovelies using neutral tones which I find just beautiful.

What great floral inspirations! I tend towards really bright and bold florals when I stamp. I have to push myself to use lighter and more delicate colors.

What a gorgeous card! I always have to add a touch of green foliage when I'm making a floral card. Recently I've done some three step stamped roses using coral, peach and lemon (not usually my choice) and they turned out beautifully.

BEAUTIFUL card and I love all your inspiration pieces! I generally tend to like color combos that bring to mind the seasons ... and my DH recently surprised me with a "for no reason" bouquet of a mix of dark red roses with white carnations and baby's breath with pines that's gorgeous and my fav winter color combo!

Love your projects. For some reason, I just dig combining blue-and purplish flowers with just a pop of yellow or orange or red. Weird, I know!

Colorado Crafter said...

Whew, glad I got to read this before midnight! It's so hard to pick just one color combo for flowers. I always go with whatever color the flowers are in real life if I'm stamping realistic flowers so depending on the particular flower that can be limiting or give lots of choices. But, for "fun" flowers where I feel free to use any colors I want, I'm more likely to go with blues and purples... although I do like pinks and reds, and reds and oranges, too! LOL!

What a great stamp set! Thanks so much for the chance to win it!
