I don't always follow trends in my papercrafting (the butterfly one passed me by), but I do like to see what's on the horizon. I'm loving the digits/numbers trend, and am happy to see the graphic trends of zigzags, chevrons and such continue. There will always be a place for those in my papercrafting.
