Stamp It! Cards Week: The Birthday Card Challenge
It's the truth. We all lurve to make handmade birthday cards. I know this because according to Paper Crafts magazine's annual Readers' Survey, birthdays are consistently the #1 occasion for which we enjoy making cards.
By the same survey, I also know that stamping is our favorite technique. That's why I've saved the best challenge for last in our week-long celebration of the release of Stamp It! Cards, the Birthday Card Challenge.
Check out these moxie-tacular birthday cards from the issue itself:

PS This is your last (of many!) weekend to work on our Card Creations Week challenges. I hope to see you there, that is, if you aren't there already!

Stamp It! Cards Week: The Thank You Challenge
Hello my moxie fab friends! I'm so glad to be back! After five weeks of being in a post-operative fog, I can't tell you how excited I am to be back in action. To be honest, I'm far from being 100%, but I'm good enough to post some inspiration right here in my favorite blog! Oh how I have missed you!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your concern and well-wishes. All y'all have helped me get through this difficult challenge with a great deal more strength and a much more positive attitude than ever would have been possible without you. You guys are the best of the best!
A huge thanks also to my moxie fab co-workers who have jumped in to help out when I needed it the most. It's well-documented that I love my job to pieces, but Jennifer, Kerri, Susan, Kelly, and Holly are the best reasons why that is so true.
And now, without further ado, let's talk Stamp It! Cards, shall we?
Hot off the presses, this ninth incarnation if its kind will quickly become your go-to stamping inspiration. Covering all your favorite occasions, this 164-page beauty is nothing short of spectacular. Page after page, I find myself ooh-ing and ah-ing, and I'm sure you will be, too!
To celebrate, I'd love to invite you to participate in our customary week of challenges, beginning with today's challenge, the Thank You Challenge. Check out these trendies from the issue to stoke your stampy fires:
~Cath
PS Thank you so much for your patience on the Card Creations Week challenges. You have until next Monday, July 2 at midnight to upload your approaches. I'll announce the winners next Wednesday, July 4. Please be aware that because my shoulder is still quite tender, I won't be leaving comments on your entries, but I will be delighting privately in each and every one.
PPS Who will be this year's Gallery Idol? The Top 5 have been announced and their Round Four cards will be posted at noon MDT! Be sure and click on over to Paper Crafts Connection to see how to cast your vote for this year's winner!

Medallion Thank You Card by Natasha Kara, p. 141
Moxie Fab Alert: The beauty of this card lies in its simple complexity, if you will. It is simple in its color scheme and design, and complex in its texture and pattern. A perfectly executed combination, if you ask me!
Merci Card by Jennifer McGuire, p. 148
Moxie Fab Alert: The stamping in this gorgeous card is wonderfully done. From the repetitive stamping in the background to the embossed focal point in the foreground to the spritzing that gives this card its all-over colorful shine, this card is moxie to the ever livin' fab!
Little Things Card by Heidi Van Laar, p. 146
Moxie Fab Alert: Not only do I love this mixxy-matchy stampy-stamped card, but I love the technique that was used to create it. Heidi stamped and embossed the leaves on kraft cardstock, trimmed away a select few of the leaves and adhered different patterned papers behind them. Pretty cool, huh?

Five for Friday: I'm a fan!

I’m a Five for Friday fan.
The alliteration. The visual feast. There’s something (as
Cath would say) moxie magical about it! It’s a veritable fanfare for the
weekend ahead.
I love the posts where Cath uses her teacher skills, like
this encouraging one – 5
Moxie Fab Reasons to Audition for Paper Crafts’ Gallery Idol Competition
(June 3, 2011) and this one - 8
Tips on How to Create a Challenge-Winning Project (April 27, 2011).
Two Five
for Fridays dedicated to my two favorite colors are awfully fun -- Going
Green (March 6, 2009) and Orange,
You Are… (October 8, 2010).
These two posts seem fitting for summertime – Wishing
You (May 27, 2011) an homage to summers past and You’re
a Grand Old Flag (June 12, 2009) set to the rousing tune by George M.
Cohan.
And finally, I love it when Five for Friday is a love note to her lovely
daughters, Nicole and Beccah – The
Road Less Traveled (August 27, 2010) when Nicole moved to Toronto and I’ll
Drink to That (December 11, 2009) when Beccah turned 21.

Who doesn’t love a little challenge, especially a Moxie Fab
one?
I think it’s so neat that these challenges are provided,
showing a trend and giving a challenge—double inspiration!
So
here are a few of my favie-faves. First the chevron
challenge! What a fun trend, and here are the
winners! Oh, and here’s the oh-so-inspiring borders
challenge and its winners.
(Seriously, I’ve got to try some of those ideas.) And since I’m a sucker for
the color blue, I have to add the Cure
for the Winter Blues Challenge. You can view the gorgeously amazing winners
by clicking here.
Then there’s a challenge based on Practical
Solutions for Paper Crafters! Here’s Virginia Lu’s card—one of the
winners from the household items section!
