Five (x3) for Friday: Christmas Cards You'll LOVE!

I've been a-bippin' and a-boppin', a-hippin' and a-hoppin', searching for moxie fab Christmas card inspiration for all of you, my most cherished and loyal readers. Here are 15 of my favies. Check it:

Home for the Holidays Card by  Debby Hughes

Moxie Fab Alert: This is one of my all-time favorite cards, and one of my all-time favorite applications of a very popular die. For me, the magic in this card is in the soft, snowy background, the delicate way the houses and trees are emphasized, and the candy cane twine that adds such a festive spark. Add the truly simple--and yet so poetic--sentiment, and my heart is seriously melting.

Fa-la-la-la-la Card by Heidi Van Laar

Moxie Fab Alert: This card is so fun on so many levels I can hardly stand it. From the Christmas stripe background on the diagonal, to the round elements on the rectangular die label, to the supah fun font treatment of the sentiment (including the quarter-notes!), to the cutie holly and ivy in the center, this card puts a grin on my face a mile wide. And that blue in the center? Draws your eye in immediately for a shock of festive fun!

Blue Star Holidays Card by Cristina Kowalczyk

Moxie Fab Alert: This card is perfectly executed, my friends. First of all, let's talk design. Note how the gradient colors draw your eye inward to the dark blue center of the star. The tiny silver rhinestone is the perfect detail to finalize the focal point. Every single line in the card which is created by negative space draws your eye towards the center. The fact that Cristina has placed her focal point off-center adds some asymmetrical joy that makes the card much more interesting than it might have been otherwise. By placing the sentiment on the right-hand side, the card is balanced, and wonderfully complete.

Jingle Bell Greetings Card by Amy Wanford

Moxie Fab Alert: This card has a fun background and a stylish sentiment treatment, but it's the jingle bells that make it simply moxie fab!

Stamp-Kissed Christmas Card by Virginia Lu

Moxie Fab Alert: I absolutely adore this card. The color scheme is soft and lovely, the ribbon helps to ground and also draw attention to the sweet sentiment, and I'm always a sucker for aspens and/or birches with a little birdie perched on a limb. But what sends this card into the realm of the moxie fab for me is the background. The snow falling in front of the musical sky is beautiful, compelling, and poetic.

Peace & Joy Card by Iwona Palamountain

Moxie Fab Alert: A gorgeous example of a perfectly executed asymmetrical card, I moxie love the unexpected color scheme, the magnificent textures, and the folk-style elegance in this amazingly striking card.

Season's Greetings Card by Debbie Olson

Moxie Fab Alert: Not only is this a gorgeous winter scene, but I am blown away by the dimension and real-life texture Debbie has created in this creative interactive card. With just a little shake--wait for it--the card begins to snow.

Love at Home Card by Betsy Veldman

Moxie Fab Alert: If we remember what we learned in the recently released Paper Crafts special issue Card Design Handbook, this is a magnificent example of the power of repetition. Betsy has stamped the houses four different times. She then die-cut the third house to create a window card, drawing our eye in to the lovely and heartfelt sentiment. Further, she has added repetitive details to the houses in the from of heart sprays and wreaths on the doors, but switched it up in the focal point house by adding a larger evergreen, again, drawing our eye in to the main event. And that red fence with the white embossing? A genius detail that thrills me to no end.

Deck the Halls Card by Angeline Yong Jeet Leen

Moxie Fab Alert: Since my jaw is still on the floor, all I can manage to say is stunning, stunning, stunning!

Moxie Fab Alert: This little snowman guy is so cute, I would love to reach right through the card and give him a big ol' hug. What I love about the design of this card is how simple Donna has kept the details so the snowman can shine. He's so cute, he doesn't need much help, but the orange ribbons, the Polaroid photo treatment, the simple but poignant sentiment, and the diagonal focal point all work to make this card very, very special.

Happy Holidays Card by Amy Kolling

Moxie Fab Alert: Ohmyohmyohmy but this is a joyful card! When I look at it my mind goes to the scene in the original How the Grinch Stole Christmas when all the Whos down in Whoville, the tall and the small, come together on Christmas morning to sing Welcome Christmas. The Grinch, as you recall, had stolen all their presents, and yet, he hadn't stopped Christmas from coming! Somehow or other, it came just the same! Fah who foraze! Dah who doraze! Welcome Christmas, come this way! The Christmas star rises, and it bursts into colors just like these. So maybe I love this card because it evokes such a lovely moment in a beloved story for me, but maybe also I like it because it is festive and sparkly. And maybe, just maybe it's the fact that design sparks emotion--and that is exactly our quest as paper crafters.

Let it Snow Card by Lisa Arana

Moxie Fab Alert: Don't you just love the idea of a sky filled with colorful snowflakes like this? Lisa has taken a dreamy patterned paper and turned it into a plausible reality by making it the background for this playful winter scene. I'd love to live in this world with this cute snowman. Care to join me?

Happy Winter Card by Teri Anderson

Moxie Fab Alert: Fun and cute stockings. Little hollies. Sweet twine. Even sweeter tiny clothespin. All placed on a rad wood plank background with a fun sentiment underneath? Moxie to the ever livin' fab!

Let it Snow Card by Laura Bassen

Moxie Fab Alert: Isn't this just the most cheerful snowman card you've ever seen? And using the snowman for the "o"? And that little birdie friend? Sheer delightful perfection!

With Love at Christmas Card by Julia Stainton

Moxie Fab Alert: When I first saw this card I literally gasped. This card is so daring and so amazing and so hip I am in absolute awe of Julia's ability to combine completely different elements and make them work together. I mean, I don't know about you, but never in my wildest dreams would I have ever thought to combine a big, bold red polka dot on kraft with a frufey white flower. Is it the clear star stick pins? The teeny tiny heart element? The bakers' twine? The little sprigs of greenery that make it all work? Perhaps, but what makes it all work in my book is the courage to try.

Phew! That's a whole lotta moxie fab Christmas inspiration, eh friends? I'd love to hear your thoughts on these ah-mazing cards. And I'm prepared to offer you a prize as my thanks for joining in on the conversation. Simply leave me a comment that says how you are inspired today by midnight EST on Sunday, December 16 and I'll draw one random lucky to win something yummy from my moxie magical prize drawer. And don't forget! You've got to check back first thing on Tuesday morning for our weekly Winnerday! post to see if you are our lucky winner!

So complete amazed at how many wonderful ways there are to make a Christmas card,

~Cath
