Holiday Cards & More Week: Tasty Treat Wraps

Raise your hand if you love to give the gift of food. My hand is most emphatically in the air because I love love love love love to cook! And sharing a tasty treat during the holidays is a delicious way to say Merry Christmas, don't you think? To say nothing of clever paper crafted containers that are so fun to whip up to put them in. Am I right?

Well, in Holiday Cards & More, Volume 7 we've got an entire section dedicated to this neighborly art, and I can't wait to share a few sneak peeks with you. Check it:

Double the Fun Cocoa Set Gift Bag by Kim Kesti, p. 125

Moxie Fab Alert: Light, sweet, and fun, this treat bag is a perfect accompaniment to the cocoa mix treat wrap it is pictured with in the magazine. What I love most about this is the "Let it Snow" tag that adorns the bag of marshmallows. I'm pretty sure that those sweet 'mallows will melt in your mouth the same way a snowflake does!

Holly Jolly Cupcake Toppers by Kalyn Kepner, p. 128

Moxie Fab Alert: Hosting a Christmas party this year? These festive cupcake toppers will dress it up quick as a flash!

Especially for You Bread Tag by Heather Campbell, p. 137

Moxie Fab Alert: One of my personal favorite neighbor gifts to give for the holidays is homemade bread. This is a perfect way to make the effort more fun and personal!

Aren't these some fun projects, friends? And just think! There are over 30 more moxie fab ideas to inspire you just in this section alone! I'd love to know which of these is your favorite today and why. Answer that question and/or tell me whether or not you like to create treat wraps for the holidays and why or why not by midnight EDT on Sunday, September 23 and I'll draw 2 luckies to win a copy of this issue that is chock full of merry inspiration!

I love treating you to these trendy treat treatments,

~Cath

Those are awesome! Since money is always tight around the holidays, I like to give a basket with bread and jam. A bread loaf is the perfect food-item to decorate! :)

Love the wrapped bread. Makes such a lovely difference. I make some breads to give away but mostly Peanut Brittle. Only make it once a year and people LOVE it!! I try and create new pkging every year.

Thanks for a chance to win. :D

3 great projects and you say there are 30+ more ...I need to see them all. I love the bread tag and ribbon....it adds so much class to a yummy loaf.

All of these ideas are cute but I like the band around the loaf cake... maybe because I am a cake person.

MMMmmmmmmm! My mouths watering lol!

I watched a program recently featuring a very old Waffle Iron. I have one that make Heart Shapes and it inspired me to warm it up lol!

I also found a great Retro looking Waffle Iron that looks as if it's from the 50's .. it makes Waffle Fingers .. perfect to decorate. I'll have to take a snap and share.

Hubby doesn't eat cake but he
won't share his waffles at work lol!

Both options would be ideal for Christmas Gifts with a Cinnamon Recipe.

You've given me a brainwave lol!

I really like the hot chocolate bag with the snowflake on it! The plaid and the stitching are super cute, and the little clothespin really makes it amazing! Love!

TLady said...

I like the BREAD packaging! Because THAT'S what I like to give too! Usually, some sort of Sweet Bread! :) YUM!!! Each year I'd try to do something DIFFERENT! We NOW live WAY OUT IN THE COUNTRY! Not much around! I WOULD try to decorate the bread before I'd take it over to our neighbor! Another favorite is my families BROWNIE recipe! OH MY! :)

Kathy M said...

We like to do gifts in a jar.. things that can be baked or made with just a few extra ingredients. These ideas would be great for that!

tape said...

Love the bread tag - it makes the bread look even more appetising!

mamichelle said...

I love them all but the bag is my favorite! I think it's the soft non-traditional color combo and the snowflake.

I do make homemade treats for Christmas. I always bake banana bread and then a snack mix (puppy chow). My coworkers yell at me and then proceed to gobble them up!

p.s. Great meeting you last night, Cath!

Annette said...

i love the cupcake toppers...if i was going to make anything for treats it would be those...they are so fun and easy. But really all of these are amazing.. So much talent...thanks for sharing..

I wish I could say I made holiday treats, but sadly, nope... but a fresh loaf of bread wrapped in May Arts ribbon would be welcome at my house anytime. I'm more likely to bring a custom wine bottle tag and wine.

I especially like the ribbon tag on the bread because it looks lovely, is simple enough to mass produce and bread is one of the food items, I enjoy giving.

Truly awesome ideas for food gift wrappers! Love the Bread Tag (and fab ribbon!) by Heather Campbell.

Amanda Coleman said...

Kim's cocoa gift set is darling! I love the marshmallows popping out of the top. I love to wrap up treats for the holidays. A paper plate and saran wrap will not do!

Colleen Dietrich said...

I think I could easily duplicate the loaf bread creation. That ribbon is just to die for, and dresses up the bread with extra panache. :)

Cheryl W said...

I always give my neighbors and some of my relatives some tasty treats at Christmas. I like nothing better than to dress up te packaging--the Cricut makes that a snap! I think that a beautiful package makes everything taste better!

Athanasia said...

Certainly the cup cakes! Yessss....love them! And the tags are so cute!

Linda said...

I have to say all 3 are my favorites!! I'd definitely make the gift bags and bread tags for my handmade gifts, and although I don't do cupcakes I think those toppers would make perfect little ornaments for the tree!

Love to bake and give away treats during the holidays & I adore Heather's ribbon tag on the bread!

pamela said...

I can't really bake but really want to learn how! I would love to learn how to bake cookies and wrap them up in a cute way!

jengd said...

I like the simplicity of the ribbon and tag on the bread- really dresses it up easily. I generally just use a store-bought container with a simple bow on it to give cookies. By the time I make 9 or so different types of cookies, the last thing on my mind is trying to make them look sexy. I'm just happy to get them in a container and hand them out to 8 or so people on time. I'd love to spend more time on the look but usually reality kicks me in the butt first. :)

Pamela Haskin said...

My fav is the ribbon and tag on the bread. Such pretty colors and the ribbon is great. I think I could use this idea several ways. Can't you just see it wrapped around a Christmas package!?!

Liz said...

I like the tags because they are easy to reproduce in bulk.

I make small loafs of bread since most people I know living here are single and the bread tags would look just great! TFS. Would love to win.

Noreen said...

We don't do food gifts because we have severe allergies in the family and are aware that others may have them, too. The snowflake wrap could certainly be used on other gifts and the cupcake toppers could be used for a family party or as tags. Great ideas!

marylouh said...

I like the bread wrapped in plastic and decorated with a ribbon and gift tag. It's not a lot of work but it looks like it took some effort to embellish the wrapper. I don't do much Christmas food gifting any more. Everybody seems to be watching what they eat and the cookies I baked had too much sugar, etc. Nobody craves them anymore. :-(

Cat Craig said...

Who can resist a cupcake, and those toppers are even more of a draw. So cute.

Anonymous said...

My favorite is the ribbon tag on the bread. So versatile - you can use it to wrap non-food gifts too. I can use it wrap around bags of the quick and easy toffee I like to make.

Thanks for the giveaway and have a great weekend!

Yes, I love your ideas (Especially the bread wrapper), and do make my own wrapped up Christmas treats each year!! Once, my dh's friend was over doing a home repair and installation. He didn't think he would be able to finish it, and then I began to cook...Needless to say he was at my house everyday and I didn't have hardly anything to send to others but got all the work done!!! LOL! My husband tells everyone that if you want to get into your doctor at a moments notice, do my wife's (me) 2 (TWO) pie rule! Give double the desert to each office so as the dr has one to take home as well!! Never fails and I even get cell numbers to call, too!! Enjoy!
