And to think, I've just got time to focus on five! There is so much moxie fab inspiration in this issue, I feel like I'm just barely scratching the surface here in our Card Design Handbook Week! All the more reason for you to get your hands on a copy as soon as you can!
In the meantime, I'm very excited to bring you the Repetition Challenge. Repeating visual elements such as a line, color, shape, texture, value, or image tends to unify the total effect of a project's design. It also serves to add emphasis, and one of my favorites, rhythm. Check it:
Did You Hear? Card by Jocelyn Olson, p. 62
Moxie Fab Alert: By repeating this stamped image three times, Jocelyn is emphasizing that the news to be found on the inside of the card is epic. By going all Andy Warhol on the coloring of the images, the designs stay hip and fresh. For if you think about it, the danger of repeating elements is that they could become mundane.
Favorite Things Wall Hanging by Alicia Thelin, p. 61
Moxie Fab Alert: One of my favorite projects from the entire issue, this delightful design is all about the repetition. By selecting such a sweet dress shape and repeating it in such appealingly different yet coordinated patterned papers, Alicia has created an unmistakably sweet mood in her project that has a powerful impact.
Good Luck Buttons Card by Kim Hughes, p. 119
Moxie Fab Alert: By placing these 5 mixxy matchy cutie patootie buttons in a line on the card, Kim leads our eye towards the sentiment where the emphasis is unmistakable.

There are a million-and-one ways to incorporate repetition in the design of your cards, the point is to use repetition as a tool to add emphasis, create rhythm, or to make a definitive statement.
Wanna give it a try? By joining us in our challenge, you'll be adding repetition to your paper crafting bag of tricks, and I can't wait to see what you come up with! Here's how to join in on all the fun, and remember, for this challenge I'll be looking for projects where the repetition is the star of the show!
- Create a paper crafted project (card, gift bag, tag, layout, home decor item, mini-book cover, etc.) that incorporates repetition in an innovative way.
- Upload it to your blog, click on the title of that post, copy the URL, and add it to Mr. Linky below.
- Tell your readers that you've created your project for the Repetition Challenge in the Moxie Fab World and link it back to this post to encourage your readers to play along as well.
- If you don't have a blog, upload your project to this flickr gallery, copy the URL to your project, and add it to Mr. Linky below.
- Upload your projects by midnight EDT on Monday, September 24.
- The winning entries will be shown on this blog on Wednesday, September 26 and will receive an "I'm Moxie Fab" challenge winner button as well as a copy of Card Design Handbook.
- One GRAND PRIZE WINNER will be selected from the ten winning entries by the editors of Paper Crafts magazine and will be featured in the March/April 2013 issue.

Stamping was made for repetition.
I love this challenge more than chocolate. The end.
Yay, managed to get 1 of 5 "Card Design Handbook" challenges posted :)
PS: I really need to get my hands on this issue, it looks awesome
Just uploaded my third card!
Thanks for the fun! The sample cards are gorgeous!!!
It's fun to get back to challenges after summer vacation!
"I, I love you like a love song, baby, And I keep hittin' repeat-peat-peat-peat-peat-peat."
This is my first time playing along with a Moxie Fab challenge! I just picked up the Card Sketches for Paper Crafters this afternoon and I'm looking forward to trying out some of the amazing sketches!!
This is a technique that I do not do very often... so I thank you for the challenge!! Great cards!!
I really should use this technique more, but I hate lining up things - why? - cause they then have to be perfect!
However, since this was digital stamping, I don't have to worry about lining them up. No extras, just print. This is my first submission to Moxie World and I frankly love this technique.
This issue has really helped me understand the hows and whys of card designing. I'll be returning to it often I'm sure!
Great challenge and loved to submit my entry
Thank you for the inspiration!
Lauren
just getting into these challenges and great to learn new things
Fabulous resource & great challenge!
Having fun with these Challenges!
I love the challenge aspect of these challenges. It keeps me inspired to create and motivated to try new things. I am tempted to say that it gives me a reason to get out of bed in the morning, but my kids do that for me.
I've got this issue, so many great ideas!
thanks so much Cath...I loved all these challenges....I just wish I had had more time to play along!
