Five (x2) for Friday: Always Look on the Bright Side of Life of Life

At the end of a week that has been, as my eleven-year-old niece would put it, quite suckish, I wanted to focus on ten things that are making me incredibly happy these days. Check it:

This delightful card from Cristina Kowalczyk:

My new granddog, Maia:

My daughter, Nicole, just got her from a rescue shelter and I can't wait to meet her. By the way, did you know that Nicole writes for Paper Crafts magazine? Yeppers. Nicole Thomas, that's magirl!

Speaking of granddogs, I'd better post a picture of my first little prince, Pepino, who is my daughter Beccah's little guy, lest he get jealous of new-comer Maia--'cause he makes me really happy, too!

This papercutting art of Jennifer Judd-McGee:

My dear and oh-so-moxie fab friend, Susan R. Opel, who took Flat Cath with her everywhere she went at CHA and posted on the Moxie Fab World Facebook Fan Page in my absence:

This cake:

The Superbowl which is on Sunday:

It's not every year that your local team earns the honor of playing in this historic game, and since I've never had a local NFL team before I moved to New England, it feels extra special this year. Go Pats!

This "sweet" card by Lea Lawson:

The wonder and joy in this photo, a snowflake captured with a macro lens:

...and last but not least, these four talented ladies:

...who will be showcasing their "squeals" from CHA for CHA Week here in the Moxie Fab World, which begins on Monday! Thanks Julie, Teri, Kim, and Windy! I can't WAIT to see YOUR moxie fabs!

And I've got to tell you, another thing that's making me very happy this week is YOU, my friends. I can't thank you enough for all the well-wishes you've posted in the comments here in the Moxie Fab World, on my personal Facebook page (let's be friends!), on the Moxie Fab World Facebook Fan Page (are you a fan?), and in the cards you made in this thoughtful blog hop (I'm still working through the entries and promise to drop by soon if I haven't already.) I am so touched by your kindness, and it really has helped to brighten my outlook.

How has your week been? What is making you happy these days? Feel free to share in the comments!

Have a moxie fab weekend, my friends, and remember, always look on the bright side of life! (Cue the whistling!)

~Cath

PS Don't forget! We've got 5 challenges going on in celebration of Cool Tools Week. Who knows? Maybe one, two, three, or all five of them could make YOU happy these days!

PPS Oh! And one more--Downton Abbey. I just can't get enough! Are you watching, too?

Mmmmm, great stuff in those pictures!
I have to agree with you on it being a "suckish" week. Hopefully the patriots will change all that! LOL!
TGIF and thanks for the great post!

What a nice post, Cath! I'm sure your week wasn't so great with all that shoulder pain, but you have found some fab things to focus on and lift your spirits.

One of my grandsons who lives nearby always shares things in his life with me and that makes me happy. And lunch with one of my daughters today will be another "happy" for this week!

Have a great weekend - enjoy the Super Bowl!

In spite of the suckish week, these photos prove we can all find joy in our lives in spite of the pitfalls! Those pooches are adorable and I know they welcome your love, and the snowflake photo is to die for! The cake isn't so bad either :) I missed the blog hop and don't use FB, but I wish you well from my heart! Take care and enjoy the weekend!

Glad you found some things to cheer you up! The snowflake pic is amazing! I've had a good papercrafting week, making things for more submissions. Hope you have a great weekend!

Love your granddogs Cath! My parents love my dogs too. Thanks for those awesome pics too.

Well, last week was my awful week so this week was better. And, I got asked to teach classes at my local Stamping & Scrapbook store yesterday and I'm very excited about that. This weekend I'm going to get crafty making cards & altered art for these classes!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Susan made me laugh!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT A FRIEND!!!!!!!! :) What has made me happy this week??? Most of my week has been spent in bed as I've had one of those headaches.... BUT, checking in here has made me smile!!!!!! :)

What makes me happy is this: i'm a live in nurse aide, private duty and my patient let's me scrapbook at her house. She watches Downton Abbey, so it's my newest obsession. Now that I've started watching this, show seems to pop up EVERYWHERE!!! I love it!

Love, love, love Downton Abbey...it makes me chuckle almost every time Dame Maggie Smith opens her mouth! Hope the shoulder is feeling better...and my sweet little granddaughter makes me happy...and the soon to be born granddaughter fills my heart with anticipation and wonder! BTW...if you need a good read to keep you occupied during your recuperation...try UNBROKEN by Laura Hillenbrand...amazing!!!!

Hi Cath! I am sure you have been inundated with cards, comments, and lots of shows of support, so I have not sent a little note yet. I don't normally post comments, don't have an open blog, nor do I enter contests - although I really wish I could, life is just too busy. One thing I do every day, though, is visit your blog. You and I have a similar shoulder story - mine has been going on for just over a year, and same as you - physio just didn't do it, good results from shots just don't seem to last, and pain and frustration are my daily companions. In fact, I have already had an MRI and other tests, and will be seeing a surgeon this coming Monday. All this said, a positive attitude has gotten me through somehow. Daily visits to your blog are my little "me" time each day, and help me to refocus on positive and fun and the beauty in this world.
All that said, YOU have helped me get through the last year of pain and frustration, so I am soooo glad that you are feeling the love from your followers right now. And there are lots of followers like me who have you in our thoughts and prayers, but just don't post it.
Hope you have somewhere you can go every day to see the great things life has to offer, even when your vision is blurred by pain. Laugh lots every day, even when it hurts to move :) And know that there is lots of love out here to help carry you through.
I'll be thinking of you every day and sending you a gentle, one-armed hug!

It was fun watching where you would pop up at CHA. I thought that you made a lot of new friends there. Thanks for the inspiration today. Feel better.

Thanks for bringing me a smile this morning! I am glad that you can find bright spots in a "suckish" week. Hang in there!!

One of the things that made me happy today was seeing the Moxie Fab February banner - what a cutie!

So glad you are able to focus on some of the happy things in your life, Cath!! Those are the things that will get you through. Hang in there!! It's trite, I know, but the suckish weeks do make life's highs even more special. Just hang on tight, and you'll be there before you know it. :)

All this stuff makes me happy, especially those gorgeous cards! Hope your week gets better...a slice of that cake would probably help!

We received Season 2 of Downton Abbey for Christmas. (We had already watched Season 1.) We love it so much we stayed up all night watching the entire Season 2! One thing that really struck me about the story is when Lady Grantham's maid put the soap for her to slip on so that she lost her baby. The maid changed the course of history by murdering the heir to Downton Abbey! Sure hope you feel much better soon.

I have a cool new word in my vocab, Cath! I need a pre-teen around to keep me connected (in so many ways). You are something - know you aren't great, yet you continue to support us in so many ways. You are incredibly FAB my dear! Hugs!

1 - i LOVE these kinds of lists. when i was going through a really rough time, i made it a point to write a top ten daily. all the little things really do make a big difference in a crazy world, don't they?

2 - you have wonderful friends! Flat Cath was everywhere! ;) she may need her own blog/Facebook page with all that popularity.

3 - the pooches are totally adorbs!

4 - the new banner? that totally makes MY top ten list today! super cute!

5 - i'll be singing Monty Python for the rest of the day now (probably the weekend). thanks for that! ;)

6 - crossing my fingers for GOOD THINGS for you on Tuesday!

7 - i made some rice krispie treats with cherry chips. would you like some?

8 - i just renewed my subscription to PC and i can't wait to see the next year in wonderful Moxie Fab articles!

9 - you look great with a 'stache!

10 - think we can infect the world with a "bright side" list trend? :)

Although my week has been kind of suckish, too (LOL from the mouthes of babes), it is getting better. I get to spend some quality girl time tomorrow night with my BFF & 2 other close friends at dinner & movies. How lucky am I? And Sunday, I have a scrapbook workshop to hang out with 4 other fabulous women that I know doing something I love. So it can only get better and I wish you all the best, too. Loved the pictures you shared in this post. If that was a real snowflake, I'm so blown away! :) Happy healing wishes being sent your way, Miss Cath!

You've had one sweet and gorgeously inspiring week! Mine haven't been very eventful, as here we are having -25 to -30 degrees in Celsius (-13 to -22F)outside - that isn't somewhere you want to be or take your kids out, so we just sat at home...

Hope this weekend is the turning point for you, Cath. Thank you for continuing to provide inspiration even when you are not doing well. And I'm glad you found some things to inspire and pick you up. Sending healing thoughts your way!

I enjoyed getting to hear a little about your personal life. What sweet granddogs you have there! I hope you get your shoulder all fixed up soon. I hear shoulder pain is some of the worst there is. I'll be praying for your swift healing. We can't have you gone too long. How would we ever be so Moxie Fab without you. You know, don't you, that you are the Moxie Fabbest of us all!?!

Sylvia said...

Love this post. I do not have as much time as I used to to post, maybe things will settle down once spring is here. Do hope you will feel better soon, I would say like your old self, but that would not be fitting! I saw the lovely cards on the blog hop and the flat Cath had me going there for a bit, but I do know that everyone out there in Blogland wishes you well. Each day has something in it to make me happy, even if it is just a purr from one of my cats. We just have to be patient, look and listen among all the things that try and keep us down. Have a wonderful Super Bowl Sunday!

I love the Cath fan, I am a big fan but this is pretty darn literally. I am addicted to Downton Abbey. I can't wait for Shirley MacLaine to give Dowager Countess Grantham a run for her money. Have you seen the sly looks the widow maid and Lord Grantham give each other?
