The Championing Award Medallions Challenge

I'm not gonna lie, some of the most fun I ever have as trends editor for Paper Crafts magazine is putting together the content for the Moxie Fabs column. Nestled between the Go-to Sketches and Color Play columns, this column usually starts right around page 24, and hopefully makes trends approachable to you, our readers. The best part? Not only do I get to pick a trend to feature (with the team's approval, of course), but I also get to work with some of the most talented designers in the industry. They take my concepts, adapt them to something practical, and make it their own.

The fun thing about the trend we featured in the November/December issue of Paper Crafts magazine is that it isn't necessarily a trend that I'm seeing in the big, wide world, but it's a paper crafting trend that I've been noticing for quite a while now.

Maybe you've been noticing them yourself? I'm speaking of three-dimensional paper medallions. Whether fashioned as an award medallion, with two tails and the connotations of "prize," "congratulations," "winner," and "super-star" that go with; or as a folded and layered element that serves as the focal point on a card, layout, garland, or banner, these accordioned morsels are currently all the rage.
