This is the process I have been through in the last few weeks. Let's break it down:
- Sheer joy...in looking at all 410 entries to our challenges. I am absolutely blown away by all the moxie fab approaches to these sketches! And even more blown away by those of you who gave all four challenges a try!
- Sheer agony...in having to narrow it all down to just 8 winning projects. In one category I had as many as 29 winning options from which to choose.
- Angels singing...Moxie fab is simply moxie fab. Just get a load of these inspiring winners!
You're Sew Awesome Card by Jen Rzasa
Moxie Fab Alert: Not only does this card stay true to the sketch, but I love the way Jen has simplified it by selecting a basic color scheme. I moxie adore the patterned paper she has chosen as it is a perfect choice for the theme of her card. My favorite part is the way she's positioned the dress form focal point. It takes over the card (the way a focal point should), and it also helps to divide the card in a vertical way which, IMHO, helps give the sketch more definition. In other words--Jen has maximized this sketch to its fullest potential by playing with its scale, and I absolutely love the results!
You Are a Doll Card by Heather C.
Moxie Fab Alert: How ca-ute is this little card? Great color and pattern choices, trendy little matroyshka doll, sweet little punny little sentiment, and note this bit of genius: Heather has turned the background quadrants 45 degrees so that they now draw your eye into the center. Ah-hah! Now that is simply moxie fab!
For our Square Sketch Challenge:
For Your Little One Card by Karen B.
Moxie Fab Alert: Not only am I absolutely wowed by the cute factor in this card, but I also so admire that everything is in its place, and every element serves a distinct purpose. The notebook paper serves as a super sweet and oh-so-fitting background, the placement of the bug on the card is perfectly balanced, and I just love the Rule of Threes Karen has got going here. Bug, sentiment, twine. 1, 2, 3 things to look at. No more, no less. And how 'bout the idea of using ribbon to create the bug's wings? And those antennae? Remember when I talked about the angels singing? Can you hear them now?
Hello Friend Card by Courtney K.
Moxie Fab Alert: Oh how I adore everything about this card! From its tastefully elegant color scheme, to the brilliant layering (and texture!) in the tree, to the perfectly placed sentiment, to the exquisite touch of zig-zag stitching at the bottom, this card is moxie to the freakin' fab!
For our Horizontal Sketch Challenge:
Sending You Love Card by Virginia L.
Moxie Fab Alert: This card is simply artful to me. The elements that Virginia has chosen to feature in her four squares both compliment one another and stand by themselves. I love the way she's tied it all together with the green mat, and the button in the sentiment is just the detail to send this card into the stratosphere of joy.
Especially for You Card by Chunyuan
Moxie Fab Alert: What a moxie creative approach to this sketch! Oh Chunyuan, I just love how are thinking outside of the box on this one!
And last but certainly not least, for our Vertical Sketch Challenge:
Hello Friend Card by Amber Daigre
Moxie Fab Alert: Talk about thinking outside of the box on a sketch! I moxie lurve Amber's approach here. What's more than that, I am stunned by the fantastic colors she has employed in the execution of her argyle design and the font choices in her sentiment are sheer perfection. And here's a little secret: this is quite a difficult task to pull off, and Amber has absolutely mastered it!
Happy Wishes Card by Cathy Fong
Moxie Fab Alert: I cannot get over the sweetness in this card. It just makes me happy through and through!
