That's right! We've got our usual sneak peek of a regular issue in celebration of its going on sale earlier this week--in this case the September/October issue--and we're also getting ready to kick-off our promotional week for the latest and greatest special issue published by Paper Crafts magazine, Card Ideas for Paper Crafters (formerly known as Go-to Sketches)!
I don't know about you, but I can't WAIT to see what's in store, beginning with our annual tribute to all things fall, the September/October issue. Check it:
Halloween Frame by Kelley Eubanks, p. 62
Moxie Fab Alert: In our Fall Home Decor feature, we've got all kinds of inspiring ideas for sprucing up. In this easy peasy example, Kelley has incorporated some trendy textural elements to create a fun frame for Jack.
Big Hello Flower Card by Teri Anderson, p. 57
Moxie Fab Alert: Innovation and exploration abound in our Creatively Canvas feature--chock full of ideas for how to use trendy canvas in your paper crafted projects. In this moxie fab card, Teri has fashioned a sweet flower by fraying some canvas edges.
Vintage Trick or Treat Card by Jennifer Cuthbertson, p. 46
Moxie Fab Alert: It just wouldn't be a September/October issue without some Halloween. Hailing from our Creepy, Spooky Happy Halloween feature, I just love the colors in this card, as well as the perspective that is achieved in this dreamy vintage card, don't you?
Fall Fun Album by Fleur Smith, p. 29
Moxie Fab Alert: Our Go-to Sketches column is a stand-by for inspiration, and this album is a stand-out!
High Five Card by Betsy Veldman, p. 71
Moxie Fab Alert: It's all things circus in our Under the Big Top feature, and this card by Go-to Gal Betsy Veldman is such a superb example of design flow that I just had to feature it here today. And notice the movement that she achieves in the card as the lines move from corner to corner, tip to toe! Moxie to the fab, Betsy! Moxie to the fab!
But wait! There's more! Now that I've whet your whistle for the thrills and chills of the September/October issue, let me woo you with some of the moxie fab stylings to be found between the pages of our brand new special issue, Card Ideas for Paper Crafters. Formerly known as Go-to Sketches, this issue is all about the endless possibilities in creating from a sketch. Check it:
Rainbow Congratulations Card by Joscelyne Cutchens, p. 25
Moxie Fab Alert: Oh how I moxie love this card, beginning with the fact that Joscie has stitched the concentric circles with bakers' twine. Whenever you put those two elements together--stitching and twine--my heart goes all a-flutter. (Not to mention how expertly it is done.) I also love the simple sentiment in the center of the card. It, my friends, is right on target. And the piece de resistance? The way the circles go off the page, giving us a sense of persepective and depth that would be amiss otherwise.
Butterfly Ever After Card by Vanessa Menhorn, p. 37
Moxie Fab Alert: Um. Gasp. Um. Gasp again. This card is so soft, so pretty, so nostalgic, so sweet. And the fact that it is a wedding card? Um. Gasp yet again.
Follow Your Dreams Card by Jessica Witty, p. 39
Moxie Fab Alert: This card, in my humble opinion, is a perfect execution of the sketch by which it was inspired, found on page 39. Our dreams can take us in many directions, and Jess is telling us that not only is that OK, but it is moxie fab as well.
Pucker Up! Card by Jocelyn Olson, p. 108
Moxie Fab Alert: I chuckle a little bit to myself every time I see this fun card. I love how the stripes, the bow tie, and the mustache work together to create some nostalgic flare, all set off by that funny sentiment! I'd kiss it, wouldn't you?
Masterpiece of Nature by Julia Stainton, p. 56
Moxie Fab Alert: Oh my gorgeousness! I continue to be amazed by the way Julia is able to combine and layer elements without them feeling too overwhelming. She gives us space, breathing room, and a place for our eyes to land, all while delighting us with texture, color, and an undeniable sense of joy.
So there you have it, friends, a sneak peek to remember! Be sure and rest up over the weekend, because come Monday, there will be a week of moxie fab challenges in Card Ideas for Paper Crafters Week.
Oh the crafty goodness,
~Cath
