Color Inspiration for Card Makers Week: The Monochromatics Challenge

A happy Friday to you, my friends! I hope you've had a good week. I also hope that you've been having a ton of fun in our promotional week that celebrates our beloved special issue, Color Inspiration for Card Makers!

The fun continues in our FIFTH of SIX color challenges here in the Moxie Fab World. Today we tackle the monochromatic section with this delicious color palette:

That's right! It's pink on pink on pink with these Bazzill Basics Paper equivalents: Bubblegum, Precious, and Pinkini.

For inspiration, check out these lovelies from the issue itself:

Too Kind Card by Windy Robinson, p. 135

A Friend Always Card by Julia Stainton, p. 135

Aren't these just delicious, friends? I can't wait to see what yummies you create with this supah fun combination. Here are the details you'll need to chum up to the challenge:
  • Create a paper crafted card that utilizes this exact color combination in an innovative way. You can use cardstock, ink, patterned paper, accents, embellishments, trims, etc.--just be sure that they match JUST these colors exactly (adding touches of one neutral such as white is OK.)
  • Upload it to your blog, click on the title of that post, copy the URL, and add it to Mr. Linky below.
  • Tell your readers that you've created your project for the Monochromatics Color Challenge for Color Inspiration for Card Makers Week in the Moxie Fab World and link it back to this post to encourage your readers to play along as well.
  • If you don't have a blog, upload your project to this flickr gallery, copy the URL to your project, and add it to Mr. Linky below.
  • Upload your projects by midnight EST on Monday, January 31.
  • Two winning entries will be shown on this blog on Friday, February 4 and will receive an "I'm Moxie Fab" challenge winner button as well as a copy of this moxie fab issue.
  • In addition, not only will I be selecting a total of twelve winners for these challenges, but the editors at Paper Crafts magazine will be using their discriminating eye to select one overall winner to receive...drum roll please...a Cricut, a Gyspy, and 7 cartridges. The winning card will also be published in the July/August 2011 issue of Paper Crafts magazine.
And don't forget--the prize for the overall challenge winner is a-m-a-z-i-n-g, so be sure and put your best foot forward! (See the last bullet for details.)

We've got one more challenge  for Color Inspiration for Card Makers Week, so be sure and tune in tomorrow. In the meantime, click on over to Paper Crafts Connection where Kelly's got a moxie fun blog hop for you--with another a-m-a-z-i-n-g prize offering to boot!

Tickled pink,

~Cath

This was an interesting challenge..love that word "innovative". I went on a scavenger hunt to find the exact papers. I found a store with Bazzill chips that helped find exact matches including a beautiful BoBunny dot paper. Then I decided to create a card to hold a gift. Thanks for getting me inspired!

I like monochromatics. I had to add a little green for the top of my strawberry--hope that was ok.

I love the vintage feel of these colors. It makes me think of Old English roses so that's what I did!
