Oh my moxie fab friends, you are absolutely killing me on these challenges. How I ever come to select just five out of all the many most excellent offerings is just this short of a miracle. And while I sincerely loved entries by Kelly Jo, Deirdre, Therese, Jess, and Jen Shears, the five winning entries to our Diggin' on Damask challenge are, drum roll, please:
Congratulations Card by Lisa Louten
Moxie Fab Alert: Lisa created this moxie fab butterfly by using a mask. I just love the idea of creating a shape from a pattern, and Lisa has chosen the perfect accompaniments to her elegantly simple design: a perfectly placed and appropriately styled font, minimal brads on each side of the sentiment, and a color scheme that both draws your eye to the focal point and underlines the purpose of the card. Bravo, Lisa! Bravo!
Wedding Wishes Card by Jamie Greene
Moxie Fab Alert: Looking at this card is like walking through a dream. In this especially soft and utterly gorgeous card, Jamie has paired a watercolor damask treatment with soft textures and shades to create a wedding card fit for a king and queen.
Joy Card by Cristina
Moxie Fab Alert: Once again, I am enamored by the creation of a shape with the swirls and flourishes that make up the complexity of the pattern that is damask. Here, Cristina has put her Letterpress to use, and by keeping the design simple, the intricate damask Christmas tree is the star of the show!
Beautiful Autumn Card by Michelle Mathey - POMI
Moxie Fab Alert: I love absolutely everything about this card. The metallic color scheme, the textures, the play of focal point damask on background damask, and especially the lovely sentiment. It is a beautiful card to express an inviting thought and it tickles me down to my toes!
Celebrate Today Card by Gayatri
Moxie Fab Alert: Oh my moxie fab, friends! Is this not one of the most beautiful cards you've ever seen? I literally gasped when this opened up in my browser. Created for Diwali, an Indian festival of lights, it is perfectly balanced, expertly executed, and exquisitely embellished. The surprise? How much I love the red on red. And just so you know, the red and purple color scheme is one of the hottest duo around these days, so on top of everything else, this card is dead on trend!
Aren't these cards moxietacular, friends? Join me in congratulating these ladies--I'm sure they'd just love to hear from all their friends in the Moxie Fab World!
