According to Paper Crafts magazine's 2010 Readers' Survey, for most of you, your favorite projects to paper craft are cards. With their heartfelt sentiments, the love that you put into them, and the creative rush that you get from a blank slate of A2-sized folded cardstock, cards are your go-to format. With the holidays pretty much just around the crafting corner--one must get started early if all the handmade goodies are not to interrupt the festive fun, after all--I've got some moxie fab inspiration straight from the pages of Holiday Cards & More, Volume 5 to get your creative juices flowing. Check it:
Embellished Tree Card by Heidi Van Laar, p. 68Moxie Fab Alert: Oh my crafty! It is very difficult to create a shaped element from a kaleidoscope of trinkets and make sure that it has balance, flow, and texture. Your eye needs places to rest while at the same time variety is necessary to keep it interesting all while keeping it cohesive without being overwhelming. I am happy to report that this moxie fab card, my friends, does all of that perfectly well! Bravo, Ms. Van Laar! Bravo!
Doily Tree Card by Julia Stainton, p. 43Moxie Fab Alert: What a clever idea to cut up a trendy doily and fashion it as a Christmas tree. Adds so much to the shab, dontchatink?
Red Flocked Merry Christmas Card by Latisha Yoast, p. 34Moxie Fab Alert: One of our cover cards, this one is for all you Classy & Elegant lovers out there. I just love the rich red damask that Latisha has used as the beautifully shaped mat that frames the elegantly stamped sentiment. Add the rhinestones and you've got instant moxie fab!
Dear Santa Card by Ellie Augustin, p. 9Moxie Fab Alert: This is Fun & Cute at its finest, friends! Simple patterns and color schemes in the background, a cutie cartoon-y girl, and a sweet sentiment that ties it all in and you've got the style, defined. How many of us remember being that little girl? I know I do, and I suppose that's why this card resonates with me so strongly.
To All a Good Night Card by Windy Robinson, p. 10Moxie Fab Alert: This one sure tugs at my heart strings. Love the vintage image, the vintage font, the sentiment that ties in to the story we know is being told, the trendy bakers' twine, the jingle bells, the bright green, red, and white patterned paper all on old-school kraft--and well, you know what I say--moxie stinkin' fab!
You know what's next, right? The Jolly Holly Greetings Challenge! Get ready to link up your holiday cards following these simple directions, friends, 'cause all us all can't WAIT to see what you've got up your holiday sleeves!

Cath, Im sure you won't remember but I met you at CHA this year. I was the groupie-stalker that almost fainted when you agreed to take a picture with me. You were so sweet about it! Every time I pick up a PaperCrafts magazine and see your picture I just squeal and say I've actually MET her and she gave me a hug! Anyways just thought I'd let you know.
Here's a blog post I did of CHA: http://wahinelei.blogspot.com/2010/08/chicago-cha-or-day-two-three.html
