With September well on its way and October just around the corner, paper crafters all over the world know that World Card Making Day is nigh. A holiday dedicated to celebrating the connectivity that comes through creating the gift of a handmade card, the fifth annual World Card Making Day will take place on Saturday, October 2.Last year in the Moxie Fab World we celebrated World Card Making Day Week with a World Tour of Card Making. I invited 44 designers from all over the world to join in our celebration by designing original cards to share with Moxie Fabbers just like you. We started our tour in Europe with card makers from Belgium, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Poland, Croatia, and Germany:
On Day Two we ventured to the UK and Australia:
Autumnal Card by Kim Dellow from the UKDay Three took us to Morocco, Japan, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, the Phillipines, and Singapore:
It was a week full of worldwide inspiration, and the beauty of the Internet is that you can hop on the Moxie Fab World train and revisit your favorite destinations or go on the tour for the first time by clicking here.
And just like last year, I've got a week of inspiration planned for you starting on Monday. In addition, our moxie fab Go-to Gals are hosting a week's worth of festivities on Paper Crafts Connection, so you'll want to be sure and tune in there as well!

I plan to wake up early to run so I won't feel guilty for sitting on my butt all day making cards! Already told the husband that it will be a pizza night!

5 is like what I make in an month usually, so making in them in a day would mean lot of fun !

I love that fellow crafters all over the world are united by a common passion. I plan on creating cards with me daughter.
I plan on celebrating by working on my Christmas cards, birthday party invites, Thanksgiving invites and Thank you cards. Pretty ambitious, huh? lol..wish me luck!

I love World Card Making day!!! Mostly because it gives me a chance to craft ALL day. My Hubby is the best and understands that its important to me to be able to participate even if he doesn't understand why! Most of my cards that I make will be going to Operation Write Home.
What I love most about the upcoming holiday, is that I am going to treat it as such in my house. No cooking, cleaning, getting a babysitter and FINALLY getting back to my favorite hobby!

I love the idea that we are a community around the world and all of us will be making cards at (approximately) the same time. Creating art all at the same time?! Isn't that a wonderful thing!
I hate to say unfortunately because I am excited to be able to have my mom fly with me to visit my daughter in Arizona.... but I will be there on World Card Making Day. So, unfortunately I don't think I will be making cards. :( Neither one does or is interested to even try paper crafting.
I didn't get to participate last year when you did all the festivities but I plan to get some cardmaking in this year!! It's so fun to see all the cards from so many people across the world!

officially I am declaring it a jammie day and am going to fill the house with scents of my favorite fall candles and coffe and I am going to hole myself up in my stamp room.
Unofficially, I might be holding a card workshop the week leading up to it to celebrate the day!
World Card Making day for me will be a get together with some other card making friends. There will be a good food, girl talk, card talk and a football game on. WONDERFUL DAY!!

What I love is the idea of "permission" to put everything else aside and do something fun and creative for a day. Could also be seen as a kick in the pants to get to those projects I've been meaning to do.
I haven't decided what I'll do yet. I might have a few friends over to make cards, OR i might just do it by myself. Either way, cards are in the picture!
Life seems to always get in the way on that day (work, travels, other events) so have always missed out. This year is the same! Maybe I'll get my crafty girls together the night before!

As in the last four years, I start with mega cups of coffee!! It's a busy day, after all, and I need my coffee. I make a lot of my Holiday cards on this day. I send my hubby away craft the day away. And spend time with all of you great ladies too!!
I would love to host a card party with my friends on WCMD. If I can't get one together, I will at least do some cardmaking of my own. I love the fact that cardmaking is popular enough to inspire its own special day! Though I have to confess that pretty much every day is cardmaking day around my house. :)
I'm going to a Quick Quotes Convention on World Card Making day. No doubt we'll be making lots of cards for Soldiers :)

Love how everyone's personality comes out in the cards they make. You can have the same stamps, paper, etc. and you will get totally different cards. Lots of fun challenges to get your fingers inky in too :)

Im not much of a card maker (more of a scrapbooker) so I love how this day challenges me to make a few more cards for friends and family, and alway look forward to all the inspiration Moxie Fab provides.

I love seeing all the creations from everywhere!I love all the ideas I get from them. And I love to make my own cards, of course!
A woman from our church holds a cardmaking workshop, with coffee, goodies, and free babysitting. $20 for the afternoon, everyone leaves with 8 handmade cards and lots of ideas for more, and all the proceeds go to the local shelter for abused women. A great way to celebrate World Card Making Day!
I will be crafting all day! So excited. I plan to get the hubby to take our son somewhere so I just concentrate on cards. Love this!
I love WCD because it give me an excuse to spend the day in my studio playing!
I plan to do a belated bday celebration for my hubby with my mom in the am, to include donuts for them (I am gluten-intolerant). After that my mom and I will probably go to our LSS for an hour or so, and then it's home to spend the rest of the day making cards! :)
I hope to have some card making time if we aren't busy with harvest....what I love about World Card Making Day is the feeling of unity with all the lovely people in cyber-world who LOVE to create!

I already some sketches set aside to work with on Oct 2. I want to spend the day making holiday cards. I think it is a great day that no matter the country, language spoken or style of card making everyone can participate.
I'm excited, this is my first year making cards, so my first Card Making Day.
I can't wait to spend the day making cards. I usually have my kids stay with their grandma so I can get creative all day.
World Card Making Day......just think back maybe 5 - 7 years....who would have predicted the growth of this fun craft? It has truly united the world. My celebration plans - several guilt free hours spent creating in my craft room!
Unfortunately, I won't be able to participate much on the actual day due to other commitments but I plan to make up for it 2wks later when I spend 12hrs at an all-day scrap making my Christmas cards.

To celebrate the day I will first go to my fav websites to see what the designers have come up with and then go to my studio to try my hand at designing some new "out of the box" cards for my friends!

I am actually going to set time aside and make cards that day. I always want to but this year I am actually setting time to do it.
I plan to spend Card making day planning my Christmas card--and maybe a few Christmas gifts for family/friends. I have to start the day with exercising too--gotta move first so I can justify sitting--of course wearing my card day shirt! It's also fun if I need supplies to go into the LSS store to show off and advertise the day!

This year I am planning on doing something a little differently. I am holding a class at Your Super Scrapbook store and I am going to post everyones picture that is in my class making a card, then I am going to have my very first give away on my blog in honor of WCMD. I’ve never celebrated World Card Making Day but this year I will. I will start the morning at a yard sale being held by a retiring and moving demonstrator who is suppose to be selling everything in her craft room from storage to glue and everything in between. I am SOOO looking forward to it. I will then come home and lock myself away in my craft room making cards and playing with whatever follows me home.

What I love most about World Card Making Day is of course that it is all about CARDS!!! (Duh... LOL...) I wasn't planning to celebrate, but now that you mention it... This will be my very first World Card Making Day!! I've only been making cards for over a year so last year I had no idea this day existed. I think it is a great opportunity to get started on my holiday cards - Christmas will be here before we know it!
This year will be extra special for me - on World Card Making Day I am teaching a card class at BC Scrapbooking Crop 4 Kids. This is an amazing weekend that raises oodles of money each year for BC Children's Hospital in Vancouver. What an honour to celebrate this day, doing something I love, that is for an amazing cause!!!
Our meetup group, "The Rock", Paper, Scissors will be meeting, so I will be crafting all day. Mostly scrapbooking, but I will manage to squeeze in a card or two.
