Card Style Week: Let's Do Classy & Elegant

In our last of four style challenges celebrating Card Style Week, let's talk classy and elegant, shall we?

The classy and elegant style is polished. A shiny finish, sparkling embellishments, a rich color scheme, and sophisticated sentiment treatments are all part of the classy and elegant pedigree. Its look is regal, stunning, and dashing. And while its lines are clean, sweeping, and dramatic, it can also incorporate monochromatic color schemes with layered textures that awe and impress equally as well.

Here are some moxie fab examples from the issue. Check it:

Quilted Best Wishes by Alicia Thelin, p. 85

Moxie Fab Alert: With its rich color scheme, sweeping lines, sparkling embellishments (there are rhinestones that secure this card's quilted texture, but they're hard to see in the photo), this card is dramatic as well as classy and elegant.

Praying for You by Dawn McVey, p. 94

Moxie Fab Alert: This card approaches this style with softness. And yet, the color scheme is classy, the sentiment is elegant, the ribbon with pearls adds sophistication, and the stamped doily pattern in the background is lovely and uncomplicated.

Your Kindness by Beth Opel, p. 91

Moxie Fab Alert: While the treatment of the lower half of this card is classy and elegant all at once, what sends this card into the uber regions of this style is the sentiment treatment. The fonts are sophisticated--and the flourish that divides them? Divine!

Sweet Baby by Lisa Johnson, p. 103

Moxie Fab Alert: Soft. Sweet. Simple. Classy. Elegant.

Dramatic Hello by Jessica Witty, p. 104

Moxie Fab Alert: Bold and dramatic, this card is about as classy and elegant as it gets.

Now that you know all the ingredients necessary for a classy and elegant card, why not give it a try? Here's the 411 on how to proceed with the challenge:
  • Create a card in the classy and elegant style.
  • Upload it to your blog, click on your blog's title, copy the URL, and add it to Mr. Linky below.
  • Tell your readers that you've created your project for the Card Style Classy and Elegant Challenge in the Moxie Fab World and link it back to this post to encourage your readers to play along as well.
  • If you don't have a blog, upload your project to this flickr gallery, copy the URL to your project, and add it to Mr. Linky below. Make sure you set the security on your photo so that I can copy it. If I can't copy the image, I won't be able to offer it as a winning entry.
  • Upload your projects by midnight MDT on Monday, August 2.
  • Two winning entries will be shown on this blog on Wednesday, August 4 and will receive an "I'm Moxie Fab" challenge winner button as well as a copy of Card Style magazine.
Polishing the style,

~Cath

This card style challenge was extremely difficult for me and it took me a couple of attempts to finally manange clean lines. Who would have though that I was capable of "less is more" in embellishing???? Thank you for pushing me outside my box!
