You voted in Round One of the 2010 Gallery Idol competition sponsored by Paper Crafts magazine, right?
I knew that you did.
And guess what? Your votes have been tallied and 15 moxie fab designers have advanced to the next level!
These designers, specifically. Check out the fun projects I pulled from each of their blogs in this special Five for Friday Gallery Idol Blog Bop. Let's get to know them all a little better, shall we?
Merci Card by Winter SimsMoxie Fab Alert: Cutie-pie dresses on a trendy Wendy clothesline with those free-floating line-drawn clouds all above a hand-cut grass border with a sweetie sentiment? Moxie fab Miss Winter, moxie super fab!
Butterfly Hello Card by Vera YatesMoxie Fab Alert: It is the layers on this card that speak to me most. Beginning with the background script; then the blue, then the green, then the pink line-drawn flowers; to the sentiment; and back up to the dimension of the simply colored butterfly; my eye is drawn through the card--and I just love where it takes me.
Sew Happy Card by Valerie ManganMoxie Fab Alert: Originally created for a recent Sketch Challenge for Paper Crafts Connection, I love the juxtaposition of the graph circles with the retro background paper. The turquoise and green color scheme is moxie trendy, and the pairing of the word "sew" with the wonky stitching works like a charm!
Summer Fun Layout by Shemaine SmithMoxie Fab Alert: What I like most about this layout is the way the sun seems to be rising on this cutie little girl. I love that the photos are in black and white, because they stand out in the center of all that fun color!
Surf's Up Layout by Shanna VineyardMoxie Fab Alert: I love that everything Shanna has used in this layout accentuates that cute photo of her girls. And notice the flow of design. Your eye first lands on the photo, then to the bird, then to the horizontal stripe that moves it across the tags which take you to the palm trees which wrap you right back to the photo. Absolutely seamless!
Hello Beautiful Day Card by Sarah Martina ParkerMoxie Fab Alert: With a trio of trendies at the heart of this card (banner, doily, fabric flower), its bright color palette and its fluid design make it simply moxie fab!
Hello Card by Regina MangumMoxie Fab Alert: Regina created this card for an inspiration challenge. Not only do I love the color combination from which she drew her inspiration, but I also love that this card is created entirely from scraps!
4 Layout by Lynn GhaharyMoxie Fab Alert: Can you say super circles? I just love the way Lynn has emphasized this shape in so many different ways on her layout--and yet, they don't overpower the awesome photo!
Thanks So Much Card by Kryssi NgMoxie Fab Alert: First, the color scheme. Second, the way Kryssi has used a monochromatic background which causes the pale yellow butterfly to pop. Third, the use of buttons and lace. And fourth, the focal point on the right hand side with the attached sentiment. Fifth, moxie pretty!
You're the Man Card by Karen BakerMoxie Fab Alert: Whenever you put woodgrain together with graphic elements, my heart starts a-racin'. I love how well all these elements work together: The vertical woodgrain paralleled by the four bold green circles on the vertical, accented by the black ribbon. The sentiment is understated yet bold. And the wonky stitching at the bottom right and top left--a fun detail that takes this card from awesome to super awesome in an unexpected way!
Happy for You Card by Giovana SmithMoxie Fab Alert: The script in the background is beautiful. The stitched frame with the torn edges adds a soft touch. The stamped flower that reaches upward, drawing our eye to the sentiment is graceful, especially because it is tied into the color scheme with the red mat. And the twine at the bottom grounds it all into one lovely, lovely card.
Thinking of You Card by Danielle WycoughMoxie Fab Alert: What a fun banner! Love the pom-poms! Love the embossed dots! Love the lace! Love the scallops! Love the color combination! Love this card!
Missing You Card by Courtney KelleyMoxie Fab Alert: IMHO, this is a perfect card. The message is clear right from the get-go and it couldn't be more poignant.
Doily Congratulations Card by Belinda Chang LangnerMoxie Fab Alert: Soft, elegant, simple, trendy, pretty, wonderful. Need I say more?
Beautiful Bird Card by Angie TiemanMoxie Fab Alert: Um. This card is dreamily dripping with deliciousness. D-r-i-p-p-i-n-g!

This was fun to see some other great cards from the Gallory Idol Top 15 along with your comments Cath. It's fun to see what other people notice and learn from their observations. I was most inspired by the simplicity of many of the cards, like Winter's Merci, Regina's hello, Karen's your the man, and of course Courtney's missing you. Less is More with these cards. I'm going to see what I can create using only ink on my card front.

Congrats ladies. You are a talented group!
Congratulations to the talented designers who've advanced! All the cards are simply fabulous ... can't pick one!

What I like about these projects is their diversity - it gives me the confidence to trust my own design instincts, even if my style isn't what's currently hot.
The card with the ripped opening is so well done--not sure I could pull that off, but I'm liking it!
I love the colors and beautiful simplicity in Regina's flower card. Beautiful!
I'm in love with the Doily Congrats card. The petal pink color, scalloped border satin bow and pearl accents whisper baby girl...perfect.
Thinking of you and Happy for you are my faves. I like the ripped border on the one, and the pennants on the other. I'm going to copy them (modified, of course)--I hope they don't mind...

What is amazing about all the entries is the versatility and uniqueness of each one. Great job by all!
I love the use of the doily in one and the lace stamp in another. Beautiful cards.
I really like th textures/layers in the Thinking of You Card by Danielle Wycough. I have some pom pom trim that I've been stuck on how to use it, so maybe this will inspire me.
i just love danielle's card! it is so striking and courtney's miss you card tugs at my heart strings....
they are all fabulous!
wow, they were all pretty awesome but I love the beach page. Not only do I love the beach but the page just takes me there. I can feel the warm air and sand, hear the sea gulls, smell the French fries and cotton candy and taste the salty air!
I love them all, but there's sometihng about the Sew Happy one that keeps me coming back!
I can't pick just one to talk about because they're all gorgeous and oh so inspiring! What amazing artists they are! Thank you so much for sharing with us!
You're the man is a great card! I have needed masculine cards lately, and my stash holds zero. Even in Moxie Fab it is hard to come up with good guy cards (butterflies, doilies and flowers??). Love the graphic simplicity of this one.
love the banner card. so adorable
I particularly like the banner card and Missing You. I really love the patriotic colors and the simplicity of Missing You. Loved the bit of sparkle on the tips of the banners!
