I asked Go-to Gal Teri Anderson to select the one project from the entire yummilicious issue that inspired her the most. Here it is, Heidi Van Laar's Blue Bow Thank You Card found on page 101 of our hotter-than-hot special issue Go-to Sketches:
Teri says: The bow is what first caught my eye about Heidi's card. Oh, how I love it. It is just so beautiful how she tied the bow and added the button to it. I also love how she cut the slits through a strip of kraft cardstock and then brought the ribbon through it. That is such a great idea. The other thing that drew me in is the color scheme of her card. I would have never thought to mix aqua with kraft, orange-gold, red and pink. They compliment each other so well.
Teri's projects:
More from Teri: Heidi's card inspired me to make a treat box and matching gift card. I drew mostly inspiration from Heidi's color scheme. I wrapped ribbon around my treat box and then used patterned paper to make the background. I cut the leaf out of a piece of patterned paper. To give the leaf a bit of pop, I placed foam dots under it. Once finished, I filled the box with cinnamon covered almonds. Yum.The gift card came afterwards. And it came together really fast because I used the same patterned papers I decorated the treat box with. I cut out another leaf for it. I glued it right to the card this time. My ribbon was a little on the thick side so I folded it in half before I tied it. I attached it to the gift card with adhesive.
Cath says: I love the way Teri has taken both the color scheme and the floral element that crosses the horizontal plane in Heidi's card and adapted them to her own projects. She's also incorporated the separated squares from Heidi's ribbon element and put that into her treat box. The other thing that I think is great is the way Teri has created a non-card project from Heidi's card, emphasizing the all-important point that we can always adapt a card to a non-card project relatively easily. Bravo, Teri! Bravo!

Hmmm - wonder if uploaded mine in time this week. Actually, I would be grateful if anyone can find the last 7 days - I seem to have lost them somewhere, lol.
