The Picking Up the Pieces Challenge Winners

A happy Wednesday to you my moxie fab friend! How's it shakin'? I hope you've had a good week and are ready to start slidin' into the weekend!

I'm stoked to bring you the winners of the Picking Up the Pieces challenge. I had a blast taking a look at all the projects. It's so much fun to click on each link in Mr. Linky knowing that there's a sweet surprise on the other side!

Are we ready to see the winning projects? I know I am, so let's find some sweet surprises on the other side, shall we?

Absolutely Fabulous Card by Laura Beck

Moxie Fab Alert: The title of this card says it all, doesn't it? The paper piecing in this card serves a moxie fab purpose: it gives us the sense that the dress is made out of actual fabric. The composition in this card is divine as well. Laura has kept the color scheme simple, she's drawn our eye in to the chic woman by using the negative floral image at mid-line, and yet she's balanced it by adding the die-cut flowers at the bottom. The font for the sentiment is absolutely perfect for this retro fashionista as well!

Spiro Thank You Card by Nancy Ward

Moxie Fab Alert: This is a great example of how paper piecing can add interest and dimension to a stamped image. Because Nancy has layered the colors in this complex flower design by using the paper piecing technique, we are able to pay more attention to the details. If it hadn't been pieced in this way, we might not, for example, have noticed the swirls in the outer blue petal, or really have seen the polka dots. What a great way to call more detailed attention to a super cute design! Good for you Nancy Ward! Good for you!

Celebrate Card by Jackie Pedro

Moxie Fab Alert: Not only is this card stunningly beautiful with its soft yellow textured background, its one rounded corner, its ruffled ribbon, and its subtle text treatment, but I moxie love the way Jackie has used paper piecing to define the various aspects of the flower.

Shine Card by Kelly Marie

Moxie Fab Alert: I just love the playfulness in this card, which is actually created by the paper piecing itself. The hodge podge of patterns she has combined to create her scene give this card a wonky joyfulness that you can't help but adore.

Je Me Souviens Layout by Mei Ann Guerrero

Moxie Fab Alert: How chic is this? Who wouldn't want to walk down this paper pieced street with Mei Ann? We'd stroll on a pavement of lace and smile at two retro girls holding umbrellas while noticing the shadows created by the awnings overhead just before we stop into a sweet little cafe for a cuppa and a tete a tete. This paper piecing absolutely makes the layout and it is sweet, stylin', and oh so moxie fab!

Congratulations to these winners and thanks to all 230 of you who gave this a go! Here are five more who delighted me with their approaches: Chupa, Karen B., Nance Leedy, Joy Taylor, and Jane. Be sure and click on through to see what I'm talkin' about!

Winners, please send me an email at cedvalson@papercraftsmag.com with your addresses and "Picking Up the Pieces" in the subject line and I'll send you your "I'm Moxie Fab" challenge winner badges for your blogs as well as your moxie fab prizes!

I've been glancing at your Get Sketchy Challenge projects and can't wait to dive into those as well! If you want to play along, click HERE. You've got until Monday, April 26.

Puttin' it all together,

~Cath

PS Be sure and stop on by tomorrow as I've got a special treat related to Monday's post. Eeeeee!

All flowers seem to be the best choices one could get. This post should be distributed out. Although I'm pretty partial to Canada flowers delivery can offer.
