The Diggin' on Doilies & Lace Challenge Winners

OK, friends. You are really making my life difficult these days. It's a good problem to have, trust me, but all this agonizing I'm doing over your moxie fab entries to our challenges--one after another after the other--can't possibly be good for my blood pressure.

Not that I'm complaining, really. There are few ways I'd rather spend my time than to check out all the amazingly different approaches all y'all take to our challenges. Have I mentioned lately how much I love my job? This one is certainly no different.

They say that turn-about is fair play, though, so how 'bout I elevate your blood pressure a little bit when you scroll down to see these inspiring winning entries? Take it slow now, we don't want to have to rush anyone to the hospital or anything. Check out these innovations:

Hello Card by Karen B.

Moxie Fab Alert: Holy amazingly gorgeous, Batman! Perfectly executed, these rainbow doilies seem absolutely seamless. The large black bow at the top is a perfect complement to the large black font. What "wows" me the most, though, is its extraordinarily unique approach--who ever thought that you could combine a doily with tie-dye color and have it turn out so moxie fab? Good for you, Karen! You are seriously rockin' it!

Here Comes the Bride Card by Rachel Defnet

Moxie Fab Alert: The "wow" factor in this card comes both from its simplicity and in its perfect execution. Rachel cut out the shape of the dress from cardstock, then carefully wrapped it with lace. The blue in this card is just perfect (aren't we all thinking Tiffany's?), providing a moxie fab contrast that draws our attention to that moxie special dress.

Blessings Card by Carolyn King

Moxie Fab Alert: The details in this card are astounding. Note how the color draws your eye inward. The sentiment is a lovely fit for the tone Carolyn has established in this ultra-clean card and I love the extra dose of dainty that the scallop with the pearl accents at the bottom provides. Moxie fab, Carolyn! Simply moxie fab!

Congratulations Card by Kazan

Moxie Fab Alert: First of all, the color combination. Second of all, those layered doilies. Third of all, the pattern pairings. Fourth of all, that red perfect font that ties it all together because of that bit of red mat just around the yellow damask. Fifth of all, the doilies that come off the edges. Sixth of all, those perfect little buttons in the center. Let me count the many ways in which I moxie love this card!

Loving Life Card by Kelley Eubanks

Moxie Fab Alert: Oh my but this one is delicious. I moxie love the neutrals with the touch of red. I love that every element in this card fits in the same family of what I'm going to call natural funkiness without going too far over the top--from the kraft to the not-so-shiny rhinestones to the hand-written font to the funky doily to the twine tied at the top, this card looks like its straight out of Anthropologie itself. Congratulations, Kelley!

Thanks to everyone who gave this challenge a try. In addition to the ones I just showed you, I especially loved cards by Bonnie Sharp, Carly, Chupa (look how cool the doily looks stamped on gingham!), Lorena, and Rosemary D.

Winners, please send me your addresses in an email to me at cedvalson@papercraftsmag.com with "Doilies & Lace Challenge Winner" in the subject line and I'll set you up with your "I'm Moxie Fab" challenge winner buttons and a moxie fab prize!

I am so diggin' on doilies and lace,

~Cath

PS The next challenge begins tomorrow--so stay tuned for some inspiration that will have you in pieces!
