Who Wants to Play? It's Color Play!

So, we've been hangin' around the holidays a lot lately in the Moxie Fab World. Well, maybe notsamuch this week, but definitely we've been loitering as preparations were made, Christmas came and went, and the new year rang in. And all while a little magazine issue, the January/February 2010 issue as a matter of fact, has been waiting in the wings, biding her time, waiting for all of us merrymakers to start putting away the tree, tidying up the mantle, and chucking the hockey pucks that were once called fudge in the trash.

"Who me?" it's been saying. "Whenever all y'all are ready for pinky pastels and cards full of lovey words, I'll be here waitin' on ya. Just say the word and all this inspiration I carry inside of me will spill forth in an ecstacy of pure paper crafting joy."

Whoa there, Jan/Feb. I think you're getting a little carried away with yourself. But really, can you blame her? I mean, she's got a clean new cover design, two new columns, and our six new Go-to Gals are officially in print. Not to mention all the inspiration that's waiting to spill forth in an ecstacy of pure paper crafting joy. :)

Well, wait no longer Jan/Feb! We are ready to crack your spine, dog-ear your corners, and rest our coffee mugs on your soon-to-be-worn cover while we run full-boar with arms flailing into the next room to foil the impending and quite inevitable toddler disaster!

In fact, I'm inclined to celebrate the January/February issue with a challenge! For friends, as I mentioned, there's a new column in town and she can't wait to get your crafty juices flowing!

I give you the newest member of our 2010 column line-up: Color Play!

Hosted by our moxie fab editor Susan R. Opel, Color Play is, in her own words, "a brand new column that's sure to inject your creativity with a shot of color." And guess what? You get to play, too, right here in the Moxie Fab World.

Here she is in all her inaugural glory--the January/February Color Play combo:

Delicious, yes?

To inspire you further, here are three moxie fab cards created with this luscious combo exclusively for Paper Crafts magazine:

Groovy Love Card by Kim Kesti, p. 28

Be Mine Card by Courtney Kelley, p. 29

Happy Birthday Butterfly Card by Dawn McVey, p. 30

Whaddayatink? Are you ready to give it a try? Groovy tunes! Here's how: Create a project of your choosing using just these four colors by midnight on Monday, January 18 using Mr. Linky below. (Bazzill Basics Paper equivalents: Grape Delight, Mystique, Festive, and Pomegranate) If you don't have a blog, I've created a flickr group here. The winners will be announced on this blog on Wednesday, January 20 and will not only receive a moxie fab prize, but will receive our exclusive I'm Moxie Fab challenge winning button for their blogs!

Speaking of colorful challenges, there's another one going on at Paper Crafts Connection. It's all about using markers on your projects, "drawing" from our fab feature in the Jan/Feb issue, Marker Magic. Click here for the 411.

Ready to embrace Jan/Feb,

~Cath

PS Have you taken our online readers' survey yet? We'd love to tune our magazine to fit your exacting needs, so be sure and click here to fill it out. 20 lucky respondents will win a copy of our latest book A Card a Day. Now that's something to survey!

Yes, yes!!! I received the magazine a week or so ago and was thrilled with all- new look and columns. The Color Play is fun. Being away from my computer for such a long time has made me realize I need these challenges to keep my creativity flowing :) This one is no exception. Can't wait to play!!! The colors are for sure funky, groovy but who doesn't like that ;)
