The Jan/Feb 2010 Color Play Challenge Winners!

So, we had ourselves a bunch o' fun with our first Color Play challenge in celebration of the brand new column in the 2010 Paper Crafts line-up, didn't we friends? Thanks to everyone who gave this fun combo a whirl!

I Just Love You Card by Kelley Eubanks

Moxie Fab Alert: The way the "colors play" in this card is absolutely striking. I love how Kelley has used the orange-yellow as an accent with the purples getting deeper towards the inside of the butterfly. Moxie fab!

Welcome Baby Card by Angie Tieman

Moxie Fab Alert: How fun is this cute baby card? What I love most about this card is the use of monochromatic patterns on the vertical stripes as they add so much dimension to the color scheme.

True Friends Card by Rosemary D

Moxie Fab Alert: This card is, in two words, simply gorgeous. And I mean that. Simple. Gorgeous. Moxie fab.

Best Wishes Card by Ivanka

Moxie Fab Alert: This card gets its bling on in a moxie fab way. I love that Ivanka has made the yellow-orange the pop focal point, and the movement in the card reminds me of a bride throwing her bouquet.

Hearts of Love Card by Jessica Rosario

Moxie Fab Alert: Notice how Jessica has simplified what could be a very complicated design. She's got nine squares, three main colors, text, and different-sized hearts. By putting all the text elements on the yellow-orange, all the dark hearts on the purple, and all the white hearts on the maroon, she creates order out of potential chaos. She gives it even more order by tying it all together with the pen stitching and utilizing a lot of white space. Then, the piece de resistance, by cutting out the center square and placing the heart on the inside of the card, our eye has a true, and quite lovely, focal point. Moxie fab, Jessica! Simply moxie fab!

Again, I'd like to thank everyone who gave this challenge a try. Many of you commented how "out of your comfort zone" this challenge was--so kudos to everyone who stepped outside of the box!
