I’m so excited to be crossing over to the moxie side today. Many of you know me as the host of the Paper Crafts Connection blog. While I stay super busy keeping that train going, I love hopping over to see all the amazing trends and products that Cath showcases each week. Talk about moxie fab! Today I’d like to confess my secret love affair with buttons. Has there ever been a more versatile paper crafting accent? Whether your style is fun and cute, clean and graphic, classy and elegant, or shabby vintage, buttons can be incorporated into all card making styles...and almost effortlessly.
Last summer in our 2009 Gallery Idol competition, our Week Four challenge was themed buttons. Our Top 5 finalists blew me away with their creativity! When Rae Barthel submitted this jaw-dropping creation, we had a hunch she would go on to win the whole competition. And she did! (Click on the link above to see all five amazing button cards!)
And buttons are not just found in craft rooms. As I began to explore the realms of fashion and home décor, I was pleasantly surprised to see these happy little disks popping up all over the place.
I’ve always loved decorative pillows, and let’s just say there’s no shortage of pillows that use buttons as either an embellishment or as the star of the show. I stumbled across this How to Make a Beautiful Button Pillow post on CraftStylish.com and was instantly mesmerized. Some say I have a lot of patience, but I’m not even sure I could pull this one off. The instructions call for 600 buttons! And they’re ALL hand-sewn on!
And Christmas may be long over, but how cute is this button stocking from Crate&Barrel?
Like many women, I also love shoes, handbags and jewelry. These items can turn any good outfit into a great one. And no matter what your size, they always fit! I love these knee-high button boots from Etsy’s furbabiesboutique:
...the bright, funky buttons on this handbag by Etsy’s IVANandLUCY:
...and this flower necklace with vintage buttons by Etsy’s JustLiv:
If you’re looking to add to your button collection, head on over to The Button Drawer. You’re in for an eye-opening experience. No, make that an education. Their fashion button collection currently features 2,689 different styles, which are then catalogued into 80 subcategories. Yowsa! That’s a lot of buttons! And each is as unique and beautiful as the next one.
One of my favorites was taken from the “Vintage Style of Bygone Eras” category. I simply fell in love with the Vencencia – PK button. I realize the “PK” most likely stands for pink, but since this is also my nickname, it most definitely spoke to me.
How do buttons speak to you? Leave a comment by midnight MST on Sunday, January 31 and Cath will pick one lucky winner to take home some Vintage Buttons like these from Papertrey Ink:
Have a button-filled day!

Buttons are awsome! As soon as PTI introduced their vintage buttons, I started my obsession with them!
Buttons are such a perfect embellie...you're bound to find thee perfect color...and thee perfect way to pop them onto your project!!
I too love buttons, and my love probably stems back to the days when my Mom had an old black tin box filled with buttons she had inherited from her grandmother. Beautiful old buttons that I loved to touch and sort.
Love buttons, but I can't imagine sewing on 600 buttons, whew! But I love how they can be a splash of color and add demension.
I love buttons also! They can be eye popping or subtle, the perfect embellishment. TFS the website! What fun!
Growing up, my Oma used to sew many of my outfits. When she was young, she worked as a seamstress in Holland and, as her only granddaughter, I was blessed to be on the receiving end of her incredible talent. I remember sitting on the floor in her sewing room sorting through her numerous button tins for 'just the right ones' to go with each outfit. I had never really thought about it before, but this just might be the reason why none of my cards are complete without 'just the perfect button'! My Oma just passed away last year...thank you for kindling this treasured memory!
I too heart buttons!!! They are so classic yet so fun!
I just love buttons and you've fueled my obsession with the fabulous eye candy. Now I have some new button sites to check out! I love the feel of buttons slipping through my fingers, the colors, the shapes, the textures...love, love, love buttons.
I love buttons! I love using them as accents & for the centers of flowers. They also add just the right touch.
I love buttons, but never used them on my cards! Maybe it is about time to do that! :D
I have been saving buttons since forever, I have several big cookie tins filled with them. If clothes have to made into rags or tossed I cut the buttons off. Needless to say a lot of my cards have buttons on them.
They are fabulous. I must say that PTI has really made them a must have for me. I have nearly all of their button bits sets and it truely is wonderful.
It's a good life!

Buttons are by far my fave embellishment, too (and the Button Bits stamps collections from PTI skyrocketed a fave to an obsession!). I remember going through my grandma's friend's collection when I was little. Going to Mae's house was the highlight of a vacation...so many colors, and shapes, and sizes. Thes best is finding a jar of them and dumping them out and just picking through them to see what you can find, oh my!
I love buttons . . . they are just a quick way to add a little something to a project! My favs are the ones from PTI . . . they have the greatest selection of buttons!
Buttons call my name, they say use me use me! Sometimes I find them difficult to incorporate but others I'd like to include the whole jar on one card! Love the colors that they offer.
I cannot resist buttons- I must have them - even though I have enough to fill a large minivan! There is nothing more soothing than running your fingers thru a tin of buttons- looking for just the right one! I love the PTI ones - all sorted by color and looking just yummy!
Love to see all the creative ideas how crafters use buttons. Fabulous inspiration here. My mom had a tin of buttons and I loved going in there and just looking at all the different types, colors, shapes, and sizes of them. I love using them on projects and dressing up an image. Thanks for the flashback of this memory.
I love buttons too! They have so many different uses and come in so many amazing colors and shapes. Pure yumminess. ;)

I love buttons! My mom used to have an old tin that she kept odds and ends buttons in and I remember when I was around kindergarten age - playing with the buttons... putting like buttons together (like all the gold nautical ones with anchors on them). Since I've been papercrafting - my motto seems to be "when in doubt - use buttons!"
I love buttons! They help to add texture and color to any project. I have ordered PTI buttons, and I love all the colors they carry.
My mom had an old tin filled with buttons that I used to go through as a kid. Unfortunately, it disappeared before I got my hands on it. I love buttons and use them on cards and layouts a lot!
I'm going to reiterate what has already been said over and over. I LOVE BUTTONS, TOO! My favorite ways to use them are as the centers of flowers in papercrafting and to tuft a great, accent pillow in sewing.
The old 'button box' was an attraction to us kids back when we were growing up. My mother had the most amazing buttons in her stash! My sister and I would sit at the table sorting through them quietly. Which probably was my mother's way of getting us to settle down. Now I have my own collection going and not for adding to clothing! For all the cards and paper projects being made. I love the Button Bits stamp sets that Papertrey Ink has been offering since last year. The hard part is parting with the very unique ones!
i have had comments on how often i use buttons! i don't care, i love them! i have always had a love for buttons, ever since i inherited my grandmother's stash of buttons. i love to look at all the antique ones, all the ones, she saved, and must've loved.
I love using PTI's new button bits stamp sets with buttons! This is so clever!
Ohhhhh, how I do love buttons especially on my cards! I've been know to add/change buttons on clothing and hoousehold crafts also. My collection includes some vintage, shaped and just plain ol' buttons I've taken off discarded clothing. Papertrey has the yummiest colors, thanks so much for the chance to win :O).
OH yeah! I am a button lover too! :) I have two BIG tins filled to the brim with vintage buttons and just the other day, my boys went 'treasure hunting' in their great-great grandmother's tins. I think they had just as much fun with them as I did.
Here's another one who remembers the old button tin! My husband and I have an ongoing discussion about using buttons on cards - he doesn't "get" it, and I have had such a hard time explaining their allure. Thanks so much for this article - and for all these comments. Now maybe I can help him to understand why these mean so much to all of us!
I love buttons! They are so simple and a great addition to any project. I use them all of the time! My children have been asking for the buttons now when they start a new project. My heart sings! :)
I'm a HUGE fan of the button! I love to use them on my projects, because they seem so paper piecey (that's not a word, lol) They connect things on fabric, and they hold things in place. I love how they look. . .they can all be so different and have different textures and sizes. Who doesn't love the button ;D
Love buttons!! I've been using them on everything lately!! PTI's are my fave as well!!
Yippee for buttons! I love putting them on the know of a ribbon bow. It adds a little touch of detail that looks SO cute!!
Wow Button Heaven! Buttons speak to me like God's children...
Red and Yellow Black and White they are precious in his sight. As I'm crafting with Buttons...I can pray for the children all over the world. Right now my focus is Haiti
Buttons are perfect! They add that finishing detail to projects all of the time! My love of buttons started with the button jar that my mom had when I was little. I would go through them and sort them and admire them! I'm off to check out some of the links! That PK button is pretty fantastic!
I do love buttons, but I don't use them as often as I should because of the bulk they add to cards for mailing... Awesome online button finds, by the way!
Buttons have to be the most versatile embellishment ever! They transend all generations! My mom is a very talented seamstress and she had buttons in bins, in jars, everywhere! I would sit for ever sifting through them! Love those buttons!
buttons!!! my favorite embellishment in scrapping!!! they can be whatever they need to be to get the job done LOL
Buttons make me smile and I have no idea why. :)
There just something about them. I love sorting them, the fill of them sifting through my fingers, the flash of different colors as the fall to the floor. And then finding just that perfect one for a card or scrapbook page or whatever the project is.
My mom used to have a big mason jar filled with buttons, I can remember sitting and sorting through them while she was sewing.....good memories.
cynthia@devoll.net
Another button fan over here! They can add whimsy, vintage, natural or a homespun touch to a project... Papertrey really kicked up the moxie by incorporating buttons with stamp images! fun fun fun!
Love buttons! I found that my interest in buttons became bigger when Papertrey Ink came out with their Button Bits stamp sets!
Buttons are just plain HOT right now! It doesn't get any better than PTI's buttons...Well, except their Button Bits stamp collection!
I love buttons on cards and pages- I'm going to garage sales this summer to hopefully find more- I want to use them as displays as well!
I love buttons. That pillow is gorgeous!
Buttons are so sweet! I once revamped a white t-shirt with buttons for my girls. I took a very plain white shirt and the drew a heart very lightly in pencil. Then I took an array of beautiful buttons in all colours and sewed them on, outlining and filling in the heart I had drawn. It turned out super cute!
I think buttons often add the finishing touch to any card or layout!
Buttons are like the perfect pair of shoes-a layout or card isnt quite complete without them. :)

Oh, I LOVE buttons, too!!! Such fabulous ideas here! Thank you for a chance at such an awesome prize! Have a wonderful day!
There's a website just for buttons? Wow...I had no idea. Buttons are just fun...I always pick up a few packages when I'm at Joanns. They have really cute Favorite Findings buttons nowadays. I always buy them hoping to find the perfect project for them. You can never have too many right?
OOHH! I love buttons!!! I am obsessed, but it breakes my heart to use them, so they sit in jars, looking pretty. I must get over that and start sharing they charm.
Oh, we had a button box, when I was growing up. It was entertainment to poke through that thing. I too love buttons, and have little plastic boxes with them sorted in color families. Love, love, LOVE buttons!! They are such a perfect accent!
Those round little disks speak to me in the same way Kelly. I don't know what it is, but give me colorful buttons and I'm a happy camper. I use them on cards ... a lot!
oh i love, love, LOVE their buttons!!
I love buttons and PTI has some of the best I've used. My brother recently gave me a rusty tin full of buttons he found in his barn. It was full of all sorts of vintage notions. I can't wait to use them.
Oh, I am such a 'button-a-holic'!!! My favorite buttons are some my mom gave me that I remember from my childhood, many, many years ago! They have some of the cutest 1950's buttons - just perfect for cards!
By the way, I have actually put myself on a button and ribbon diet, but if someone gave me some, I wouldn't turn them down! :o)

Buttons are great and so versatile. I recently got Papertrey Ink's Everyday Button Bits and I've been whipping up a button storm!
I love buttons...but I hate to use them up! Some of them are works of art and it's so hard to part with them...
To me, butttons speak volumnes. In terms of color, they are so versatile and then there's the style of buttons, they add so much fun and creativity into a card.I can't sew without them! I don't sew, but I can do buttons :)
I love buttons, but the truth is I hoard them, I love to look at them in jars all in a row....
I am almost certain that I have never made a scrapbook page OR card that did not have a button on it. I even sew them to my kids clothes and hair accessories!!
Buttons are my new found obsession! I have gone thru both my mother & mother in laws sewing boxes, they are a great place to find unusual goodies :) I would love to win, Paper Trey and Moxie Fab ROCKS!
I love eency weency baby buttons. And after picking up my mom's habits, I have a jars full of miscellaneous buttons from cast-off clothing and the spares manufacturers attach to new purchases.
I collect buttons. My love affair began when I was a child and my mom gave me a muffin tin and her button collection to sort into the tin by color, shape or whatever I wanted. I use buttons on nearly every project I do and love their versatility and the place in my childhood that they take me back to.
love your samples .... let us just say I do not use buttons as much as I should! Flower centers mostly.
I have been collecting great ideas for the use of them ... and I do plan on using them more ....
Sandra
Like many people, I can remember a box of buttons my great-grandmother kept. I used to love just sorting through them. I still love them and use them on most anything I can!
Yup, when I finish a card and it just needs "something", buttons always fill in the gap.

I love buttons they remind me of my younger years and my grandmother who had some of the most amazing buttons out there! I miss you...Beth
My mom has a giant jar of buttons that belonged to my grandmother. All 5 of my mom's sisters divided them up when my grandma died. I love looking through those and thinking about where those buttons came from and what life was like when someone was wearing those around! I'd love to win some PTI buttons. Thanks for a chance to win!
I love buttons too! I do monthly workshops at my home and try not to put my clients on button overload, just incase they dont have a passion for them like me! But it is sooo hard not to add a button here and there...somethings just NEED a button to finish it off!
A girl after my own heart!! Can't get enough buttons!!! Just love 'em!!! I search and search thrift/antique stores for them!!
I love the old vintage buttons, and using buttons from old clothes...partcularly from family...on projects. It helps to tie the project to the person!
My Mom and Gramma (both sides) always had an old coffee can filled with buttons that I used to play with as a child. Now I own one of those cans and my daughter another. She played with buttons and her oldest daughter played with them. So buttons go way back in my family!!
Now I use on them on every paper craft I make. That's how I still "play" with my buttons!!
I love buttons. My MIL gave me 2 buckets full (big yoghurt containers) last year. Took me forever to sort them out and wash them, they were really old but they will last me forever.
Would love to win PTI buttons.
Eveline.

I love buttons - especially for the center of flowers, for dots here and there, and on top of a bow.
I love collecting and using buttons on my crafting projects. They can be used as so many different things on cards and scrapbook pages. I love seeing all kinds of projects with buttons on them. Thanks for the inspiration!! I am off to create soemthing with buttons. =)
Buttons are great and they are good for creating borders, frames, and balloons! I currently have about over 2,000 buttons and they are all organized by colors.
I love buttons! I really love clear buttons...so fun to alter. My mom had a sewing box filled with buttons and some of the best times I had as a child were spent playing with her buttons while she sewed. Sorting and running my fingers through them...loved it!
Ah! Buttons! Papertrey's buttons are fabulous and super affordable! I love using buttons for cards and am learning how to sew...(an excuse to use MORE buttons)!
Ah, buttons, I call them little circles of happy! I own several old collections of buttons, one from my grandmother and one from my husbands grandmother. I love to use them on my craft projects, but I'm equally as happy just looking at them :)
I love buttons so much that I hardly want to part with them, so if you get a card from me with a button on, well, let's just say you must be pretty special!
I really love the real vintage buttons with fun texture. They make me wonder who wore them on what outfit... and on what occasion. Love personal history.
Buttons are one of my most favourite craft embellishments. I started out sewing before taking up scrapbooking and later crafting so buttons were like 'being home' to me. I, like so many others still recall playing with my mother's button tin as a child - she still has the very same tin although these days we've all raided the best ones!
Buttons are such a lovely touch to a project...and I love using them on my cards! The PTI buttons are especially sweet because of their color and different shapes. Oh wow, that pillow has lots of buttons...not sure I would go that far yet, but it is a beautiful piece of art! Thanks for the inspiration and chance to win!
I have been on such a button kick lately. PTI has some yummy colors to choose from. Fun to look for at the stores too, especially if you have a specific color in mind. I'd be thrilled to win some to add to my stash!
I never go to yard sales, but several months back a local gal advertised hers that was craft-orientated, so I went. Found some great buttons there. That was fun!
DeniseB
I love buttons. They are such a nice accent to add to your crafts. I especially love the PTI button bits stamp sets.
Love buttons of all sizes and colors! I've got a tin sewing basket and a Mason jar that's holding vintage ones!
I love buttons. When I was little, my mom sewed a lot, and I just loved going through her stash of buttons. I also loved going to the fabric store b/c of all the spinning racks of button to look over. Now, I have a large stash.
omg!!! I just ADORE the PTI buttons- so gorgeous.
I have a button addiction! I rarely make a card that does not have one on it. My daughter know how much I use buttons and when she gets new clothes, her first words are "look Mom, there is an extra button"!
I have my grandmother's button jar, and my mother-in-law's button jar and my aunt's button jar and I can't bear to part with any of them! They are just plain fun to look at.

Brandi
I love buttons! They make wonderful addiitons to mixed media projects and are always a quick and simple accent to add to pages and cards!
I think you have nailed it on the head why buttons are so versatile by your post. I love some buttons
I love buttons - can`t get enough of them!!! My daughter seems to be the same - no button is safe :)
I finish off many many cards with a button! It`s just the perfect embellishment for every style...
I love using buttons on my scrapbook projects and cards. They add such a charming and fun effect to my projects.
It's funny, I never caught on to this trend until PTI started incorporating them in their stamp sets. After seeing all the possibilities, of course I just had to have some! They look so pretty sitting above my desk that I almost don't want to use them... :)
Buttons are such a great embellishment, inexpensive, colourful & beautiful.
My mum used to have an old tin button box that I used to love to play with as a little girl. Maybe that's why I really like 'em.
Amy.
Buttons are happy. Plain & simple! :) A few months ago my Mom gave me a jar (that my grandma had used when my Dad was a baby) full of buttons- VINTAGE for sure! :)
I would be bouncing off the walls to win some PTI buttons! I've been buying their stamps & trying to keep myself reigned in on spending- so no buttons from them yet!
Thanks for the chance!!!
I love buttons, they always add that extra something to your project....I also really love when a whole image is covered in buttons like the gumball machine prioject...adorable. Papertrey Ink's button bits stamp collections are so adorable too, I love the idea of using buttons as part of the image!
I love buttons! Not only do they give an unfinished product a finished look you can also do pretty much anything with them. I was at a scrapbooking group and they couldn't believe the things I created with my buttons. I was surprised since I thought everyone loves their buttons and would try all sorts of neat things like I do. Maybe we need to start up a button fan club ; )
I just started to use buttons on my cards and I am loving the look they bring to it.
I played with my mom's and mammaw's buttons as a child. I still have a lot from their collections. I also collected them when we lived overseas. Using buttons in all projects is so much fun. They all seem to have faces. Nothing is like a button, but the real thing! I will be checking out your button place!
I {heart} buttons! I use them often as accents on my cards and I love love LOVE hunting through my 'collection' to find just the right ones. It's so fun to mix shapes, sizes and finishes and the combinations are literally endless. Sigh...buttons...LOVE them!
Buttons are the fun embellishment to deal with! I totally love the button pillows, so cool!!!! I am sure it will be little heavy....lol
Absolutely stunning projects!!! thanks for sharing all ideas, so inspirational post! =)
How do buttons "speak" to me? They say "buy me, collect me, hoard me!" lol! I love them!
My love for buttons started when I was little and would visit my grandmother. She loved to craft and sew and had buttons galore. I remember touching, matching, grouping, designing, etc... with them for hours. It was so much fun. She is 96 now and on my last visit she gave me some of her stash for my cards and LO's. I love PTI's colors, they would be awesome to have.
Yay buttons... who doesn't love an embellishment that not only looks great, but is functional too!
Love buttons and have for a long time. I use to take buttons (beautiful, plain) and make earrings out of them. Glue a post to the back embellish the front if needed. Now it's more card embellishment! Got to love the versatility of a pretty button!
The possibilities with buttons are so endless! I love the way PTI ones are a perfect match with their papers. I just put in my first order with them and can't wait to play!
I love using buttons on cards. They're so versatile!
Oh yes, I grew up with Mom keeping old and odd buttons in mason jars, and we'd have to dig around to find all the matching ones. I think buttons as card embellishments are fantastic because they are so versatile and easy to use. I love PTI's antique buttons - there are so many funky and fun ones included!!
While I love antique buttons and always drooled over the descriptions of the buttons on Ma's dresses in Little House in the Big Woods, I don't own a single one. Really need to remedy that.
Buttons are great! They can be turned into almost anything on a card from i's to o's to eyes again. Anyway, thanks for the chance to win.
I have quite the collection of buttons but my favorite are the old ones. I have one very special little jar full of pre-1960 buttons and I just like to sit and stare at them! And I do love adding them to my projects. What an awesome website - thanks for that link.
That button necklace is stunning! I went OOOOOHHH! I lurv it! I love buttons. I love it that when I buy my daughter clothes so much of it has the cutest buttons on them! Sometimes I think of cutting them off but refrain myself as I think it's more important to let another child reuse her clothes! Unless there is a stain than the button is mine! :>
Mom let me sit at her feet while she was sewing at the sewing machine and string buttons on a thread, so I was sewing just like her. I have a jar of her old buttons, 2 jars of my mother-in-law and 2 from my grandmonter-in-law, but I still like to buy PTI buttons. I just bought a tee shirt with button trip that is so pretty. Bring on the buttons!!!!
I love buttons... I have my Mom on the loo out for unique buttons... she goes to secind hand stores and if she sees something with buttons or lace she buys it for me. :o) Love the great colors and shapes you can find. TFS!
Hi Kelly -
I love buttons and I come by the love honestly. My grandmother (now 102 years old) worked as a seamstress. So she was always bringing home buttons that she found interesting. She used to have a huge muslin bag filled with them. Some were teeny tiny mother of pearl buttons, some fabric covered, some decorated with rhinestones, all gorgeous. My grandmother decided when it became difficult for her to see for sewing anymore to divide the bag between my two sisters and I. Some I have incorporated into jewelry pieces and others I included in mosaics. Some are still so precious I won't part with them.
When I am discarding clothing I always remove the bottons. Some buttons are so sweet, that I use them to make molds and then create jewelry pieces and card embellishments with polymer clay or UTEE. Do I love buttons? You bet I do!
Elaine Allen
Oh BUttons speak to me in so many ways!LOL I have been known to buy cardigans simply because I love the buttons! I have tons of buttons sorted by color in bottles in my scraproom. When I had a classroom I had boxes of buttons the students could use for math, patterns, designs etc. Whenwe go home, I love to go through my MIL box of old buttons. I love them on LOS, cards, quilts everything!
Great ideas and Hi Kelly. I love buttons. I love the feel and look of buttons. I also love the way they sound when they are poured out from a collection jar. It's a
3-D affect I love to look at. They please my eye. So I guess you could call it my eye candy. :)Button button who's got the button? I loved playing that game when I was a child.
A girl can't have too many buttons! They are the perfect little embelly for any project no matter what your style is!
I am a little obsessed with buttons. Well, that is what my husband thinks, at least. I would buy clothes just so that I can have the buttons to craft. And that is especially true with my kids clothings. When the clothes are worn out or they grown out of them I would snip off the buttons to use on my paper crafts. And that is on top of the tons of buttons I already bought. I can never have enough buttons.
I wish buttons spoke to me more often. I have a hard time incorporating them comfortably! Maybe I need some more practice!
Buttons are the perfect finishing touch. It's hard NOT to use them.
Thanks for a chance to win some!
i love buttons!
just how all the colors look so nice, and bring that joy when all nicely organized ;)
Buttons are like candy...so many colors, and I just can't get enough!

I lurve buttons. I don't think I should visit that website or I could soon be drowning in buttons! I made a couple of button cards last night with some scraps- they give them just the right amount of lift.

My love of buttons started just as a very small girl playing with both of my grandmothers button boxes. Oh how I wanted some of those buttons, but never took one. They really had some bling back in those days. I am so happy to see the resurgence of buttons and love using them on my papercrafts. Thanks for the chance to win.
Love buttons! PTI has really yummy buttons!
I love, love love buttons!!! I like to look for them at flea markets and buy them by the bagful!
I have my buttons all in little containers and just looking at the colors of them just make me happy. I love the colors of the rainbow.
I love how such a sweet, inexpensive little item can add such detail and wow factor to a card. I am starting to use buttons more and more. So fun!
They definitely do speak to me! I love running my hands through my button jar and feeling all of the textures!
Buttons are great--I especially like them on baby cards--cute as a button!
I've always loved buttons from the first moment I was allowed to play with my mother's big, round tin full of buttons! I love all the colors, shapes, designs and they're great for embellishing papercrafts!
Buttons are just so versatile... they go with any style! Love them!
I'm a button fanatic. There is an old fashioned fabric store in town and they have these neat little wooden drawers with all sorts of great buttons inside.
Buttons are like little smiling faces all asking to be added to my card. A vendor at the CK convention in town had a bowl of little baggies full of buttons for $1 each and I felt like a kid in a candy shop!
Button club, anyone? OK...in the late 80"s when big shoulders were all the rage, my super Mom bought me a men's blazer from Nordstom. It had been recut and tailored for women. Anyways, she hot glue gunned buttons up and down the labels and made a heart out of buttons on the back. It was GHETTO FABULOUS, as my daughter tells it. I wonder where that jacket is now?Ahhhh, buttons.
Good golly miss molly, I love buttons! Would LOVE to have some in different colors! I seem to have mostly black for some reason! Thanks for the FAB giveaways ;)

I love how buttons are so versatile - eyeballs, flower centers, any round letter, empty space filler, game pieces (can you tell I have little kids who lose things?), etc. Hope you had fun at CHA.
Buttons speak to me of farms, Granny's sewing room and the wisdom of age...and their too cute!
I too have memories of going through my mother's and grandmother's button tins! It was like going through a jewlry box, lots of treasures! I especially love old buttons! Nothing spices up a project better than a few butttons!
YOu just can't have enough buttons - I especially love finding them at estate sales!

I have already lifted all of my mother's old buttons from her craft room. Every once in a while she will ask if she is getting them back. (She's not.)
