All Creatures Great & Small Challenge

Who's up for a challenge? Perhaps the real challenge this go 'round will be squeezing this in amongst the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. But if there's one thing you should make sure you do during the holidays, it's to set aside some time for yourself and relax. I hope that you find that you're doing just that here in the Moxie Fab World!

This next challenge comes straight from the pages of the November/December issue of Paper Crafts magazine. Due to the wide popularity of critters of all shapes and sizes in paper crafting products of all types and varieties, we did a product-based feature in which we asked our submitters to create holiday projects that incorporate any kind of animal. Entitled All Creatures Great & Small, it's a festive collection of cards that features a festoon of our furry friends. Here are a few of my favies:

All Creatures Great & Small Card by Kim Kesti, p. 63

Moxie Fab Alert: My favorite thing about this card is the posture of the gnome as he reaches down to that sweet little mouse. Kim has kept the design simple, causing your eye to go straight to the kindness of his gentle spirit.

Peace Card by Rae Barthel, p. 67

Moxie Fab Alert: These deer are peaceful indeed as they gaze upwards in a sea of white. It's simple. It's understated. It's moxie fab.

Not a Creature Was Stirring Card by Kim Hughes, p. 70

Moxie Fab Alert: If this card doesn't melt your heart, I don't know what will. One glance and I'm reciting the lines of my favorite Christmas poem to my daughters on Christmas Eve--which we do every year, by the way, no matter how old they get.

Want more ideas for how to incorporate this trend into your creations for this challenge? Check out these creature comforts:

Ready to play? Great! Upload your projects using Mr. Linky below following these instructions:

  1. Create a paper crafted holiday project (card, gift bag, tag, layout, home decor, etc.) that incorporates some kind of critter.

  2. Upload a photo of your project to your blog, come back here and post the URL to your project page (not your main blog URL) in the Mr. Linky box below. Post a link to the Moxie Fab World in your blog's text to encourage your readers to see the other projects that have been linked and to try the challenge themselves.

  3. If you don't have a blog, go to this Flickr gallery, upload your photo, and post the URL to your project (not the group) in the Mr. Linky box below.

  4. Accomplish this task by midnight on Monday, December 21. The winning entries will be showcased on this blog on Wednesday, December 23 and will receive a truly moxie fab prize!

Have fun with this one, friends! I'll be oohing and aahing over them periodically. In the meantime, I hope that wherever you are today, you are happy and well! Thanks for taking some time out of your busy day to stop on by!

Wishing my youngest a happy 21st birthday today and refusing to think that makes me old,

I am gonna do this one. I have not seen my studio in weeks. (I am in a big musical for Christmas that has absorbed me totally! But SUCH FUN!!) I miss everyone on this site. I do come and glance every morning but my body is tired and I don't even want my fingers to type to respond! LOL! But it will be over on Sunday. Then I will be boo hooing because I miss it. We have be rehearsing since Sept 1 since it is Broadway quality. Wish all of you could see it. Okay for now. I am going to enter this challenge!

You are not old, having kids makes us younger LOL. Celebrating with them reminds of us what we were like at that age.

Great challenge! Love all the examples but those silly doxies "sleighed" me (sorry, I couldn't resist)! Just remember, our children may be getting older, but we're not (I'm older than you, so I can attest to this), they are just catching up! That's the hidden secret nobody talks about (oops)! Ha.
