I love that this was our most widely-tried challenge to date! Woot! Thanks to everyone who entered! I hope all y'all had a great time 'cause it sure looked like you did! :)
Are you ready to see the winners? Are you ready to see these innovative uses of ruffles--I mean, after all, these aren't your regular ruffles now, are they?
May I have a drum roll, please?
Thank you. Ladies and ladies, I give you the winners of the Not Your Regular Ruffles Challenge:
Moxie Fab Alert: Ohmyohmy! This is such a sweet card on so many levels! I love the simple color scheme, the way the brackets stretch the card lengthwise, the cute little scallop at the bottom, and the multiple functions of the layered ruffles: they ground the design, provide some trendy whimsy, and underline the sentiment all at once! Moxie fab, Dee! Moxie fab!
Celebrate with Style Card by Vanessa Menhorn
Moxie Fab Alert: Speaking of sweetness, this one is pure sugar. Made for her one-year-old niece, Joanne has made a perfect play on pink while the ruffle trumps it all! I love the way the ruffle enhances the femininity without overpowering it. This card is so sweet you can almost taste it! Moxie love!
Gracious Hostess Card by Jessica Rosario
Welcome Little One Card by Odette
Gracious Hostess Card by Jessica RosarioMoxie Fab Alert: Now this really isn't your regular ruffle! I love Jessica's take on the challenge with this shaped card. She's creatively made an apron completely out of paper with a ruffled skirt at the bottom and paired that with an apropos purpose. I mean, what hostess wouldn't just love to receive this "thanks" for her efforts? I would! I would!
Welcome Little One Card by OdetteMoxie Fab Alert: The ruffle on this card is just the right touch. It adds the perfect detail to this vintage carriage without overpowering the design! Bravo, Odette! Bravo!
Celebrate with Style Card by Vanessa MenhornMoxie Fab Alert: Stylish and chic, this card asks you to celebrate in style with some moxie fab style of its own. The color scheme is moxie fab, the chandlier is moxie fab, the font of the sentiment is moxie fab, the placement of the pearls is moxie fab, and the addition of that big ruffle with the oversized button as its focal point is, well, you know, moxie fab! You go, girl!
Congratulations again to the winners! And while there were a TON of stellar projects in the challenge, here are a few more projects that "ruffled" my feathers: Amy H, Cindy C, Deanne, Lulu, and Heidi Van Laar. Thanks to everyone for bringing such joy to the challenge, friends!Winners, please send me your addresses in an email to me at cedvalson@papercraftsmag.com with "Ruffles Challenge" in the subject line and I will get your prizes mailed to you as well as email you your Moxie Fab World Challenge Winner badges for your blogs.
Before I go, I've got something special to share with you. Remember our Gradient is Radiant Challenge from a couple of weeks ago? If you recall, it came straight from the Moxie Fabs column in the September/October 2009 issue of Paper Crafts magazine. Well, this past Saturday I got an email from a reader who was so inspired by this card made by Celeste Rockwood-Jones:
...that she turned it into a decoration for the library where she works. Check it:Ellen Whitehead in front of her inspired wall decoration
Can I tell you how much this kinda stuff just absolutely warms my heart? I love to see the way that all y'all are inspired, whether it's in the pages of Paper Crafts magazine, on Paper Crafts Connection, or here on this blog. Thanks, Ellen, and to all of you, for sharing your inspiration with all of us!
I've got a new challenge waiting for you tomorrow, friends, and I promise you, it will be plump, ripe, juicy, and delicious!Inspired by you,
~Cath
PS Believe it or not, the Moxie Fab World Blogiversary is coming up...and soon! What questions do you have? What behind-the-scenes info would you like to know? What would you like to see more of? What would you like to see less of? What do you love? What do you not love? You know, what do you and/or what would you? Send me an email at cedvalson@papercraftsmag.com by Sunday, November 9 and maybe your question/comment will be featured on a certain blogiversary post near you!
