Doin' the Wooty Woot Woot Dance over here. Not sure what that looks like, exactly, but it feels a little like the hips are a-wigglin', the shoulders are a-jivin', and there's a smile on my face about a mile wide.
And guess what? For me, it's not just the Friday at the end of a long work week. It's also the Friday before I get to get on an airplane with my girlfriend Susan R. Opel, destination: CHA!
OMG! Can you imagine the excitement that I feel just as I'm about to step onto the showroom floor? I mean, you've known me for a while now. You've seen how crazy ecstatic I get about cool/beautiful/funky/amazing/whimsical/sweet/bold/andotherwiseinspiring pieces of paper. I know, right?
It's pretty much the same way I feel when I open a Paper Crafts magazine for the very first time. All the idea-gathering. All the fomenting. All the conceptualizing. All the planning. All that arranging of projects and product. All that coordination, collaboration, and general pulling-it-together as a team.
And then, one day, seven long months after it was conceived, it arrives. There's a collective burst of excitement as Brenda, our editorial assistant, doles them out to one editor after another. Pretty much all work ceases. We pore over each page, seeing it for the first time as a cohesive whole, not as "chapters" at first-proofs, not as sections or images or articles or pieces, but as a bonafide magazine with a cover and a binding and a masthead with our names on it and articles with our photos.
So, you can imagine how excited I am today to show you sneak peeks of our September/October 2009 issue that goes on sale on Tuesday! I just can't WAIT to show you some of the coolest projects of the bunch!

They are all wonderful creations. But the one I really love is the G Thanks card. It's so simple and yet it just grabs your attention!
I love the Everyone card by Melissa Phillips. I love the leaf embellishments -- very unique... and pretty! A close second (the decision was very hard) would be the batty card by Annabelle O'Malley. I love the distressed edges... and the fun funky paper used for Halloween... very creative!
My favorite is the Simply Shine Card.

The batty card is my fave! I love fall (although we are not havin' much of a summer here in Il.) and Halloween is the funnest time of the year!

I love the Simple Shine card, I'm in the process of moving and have been looking for ideas for a "new address" card to send out . . . I think this is it!
My favorite in the new magazine [I got mine in the mail yesterday ;) ] is Susan Neal's 'New House Congrats' card on page 16 for her decorating the scallops.
But my favorites of the ones you've mentioned are the 'Thank You Dots' card (Angie Hagist) and 'Fancy a Chat' (Erin Lincoln). Angie's is SO simple it's ridiculously cute, and Erin's chairs are a stroke of genius!
Thank you dots is so simple, yet it really is beautiful. I love how clean it is.

OH my goodness!! What wonderful creations!! I love so many...the chat card, so clever! The little house..adorable!! But for some reason, I'm so drawn to the simplicity of the thanks card with the little colored dots by Angie Hagist! I think a lot of times, I try to over-do projects, you know...trying to make them look impressive, and this card just proves that you don't have to. Love that!! Beautiful work by all!!

It is hard to pick a favorite, that are all truly creative. I like the simple, clean designs on a few of them, but my favorite is the Treasure Card. I like the colors, the cardboard, the flower, the metal swirl, etc. I like the layered look, usually the more the better!

I like all the cards but "Learning" is my favorite because it comes close to my philosophy as a teacher and a learner.
Treasure learning is by far my favorite. So rich and full. Love the button flower. All the other cards rock as usual too! Can't wait to get my copy in the mail...

The Stay Tuned card by Teri Anderson is simple, unusual and adorable. I love the black and white toile paper from AdornIt.
I think the Trick or Treat card is my favorite, but I do like the Fancy a Chat (I'm a BG addict!) THis issue rocks--got mine this weekend and have drooled over it countless times!
