Moxie Monday: Stitched Stuff from Prima

I'm not gonna lie, I literally *gasped* when I saw the Stitched Mulberry papers from Prima at CHA Winter last January. If you've ever seen my house at Christmastime, you know what a stitcher I was in my past life--so to see such beautiful stitching on such beautiful papers by one of my favorite companies--you might just say I was in stiching nervana.

One of the reasons I love stitching is the texture and dimension that it brings. Whether it's a hanging tapestry, an embroidered pillow, a cross-stitched stocking, or a hand-stitched card, I love the way the stitching feels and the way it creates depth. These stitched papers are no different. You can see and feel the stitching, giving it a sense of the wholesome goodness of handmade--because it's the real deal.

And since our current Moxie Fab World Challenge involves stitching (click here to see the awesome projects that have been uploaded already--what are you waiting for you should be playing here, too!), I couldn't wait to show you this beautiful line! Whaddayatink of these stitched beauties?

Beauties aren't they? Leave me a comment by midnight MST on Thursday, April 9 telling me what kind of a project you would work up if you won this collection and all you see here can be yours! I'm prepared to randomly give away two! That's a double woot woot in my book!

See you again soon in the Moxie Fab World,

Those are just amazing...!! If I won them I'd (first of all: skip and jump for joy and not be able to stop giggling from being very very VERY happy and then) bring out my wedding photos and re-scrap them. Looking back, I'm not very happy with the way I scrapped them THEN so... These papers would surely make all the difference! :D

These are just beautiful. Stitching is one I haven't tried on my cards, but always thought they are great. I'm sewing machine-challenged, so these papers will make it look like I'm not.

oh my loveing how the world of sewing and paper crafting have fully collided! I use to be an avid sewer....(is that a word?!?) My grandmother was a fantastic seamstress, you know the kind that can look at you and cut out the fabric and make you an outfit without the use of any type of patterns...yeah that how she was. Then I discovered paper crafting and well....I hardly have time to sew....I would make a tribute to my grandmother with some awesome wall art using paper, fabric and stiching.
Thanks for a chance to win!

Thank you so much for the chance to play along!

I just love everything in that line!! If I had any of that, it would probably all go into the scrapbook. I absolutely love to hand-stitch on my layouts. I think I can't see a layout being done until I've stitched at least one thing on there. Too beautiful. Maybe if I had these, it'd give me a chance to learn some new stitching skills and maybe buy my own sewing machine? Thanks so much for the chance to win them.

Nicole K/GothamGal said...

I love the paper. As soon as I saw this, I was thinking about coupling it with a project I've had in mind for a while.
My Grandma is a sewer. She supported my mom and aunt when they were little by working a factory job and then doing sewing. Eventually she worked at Penney's and they let her make all of the samples, she picked out the fabric, made the items and then got to wear them once they were taken off the displays. Sewing is a huge portion of her life, and she's so talented.
I'm envisioning getting a large box, that looks like a sewing kit to hold an album--an album of my Grandmother's life. Sewing has been such an important part of her life (she even used to make me clothes, which I loved), I think these papers would be fabulous. She's one of those gifted people that can look at an item, maybe pass her hand around it, and then sit down and sew it. It's fabulous...

Robin said...

Gasp - Those are beautiful.I love you don't have to sew on these paper and embellies. I would use this paper and embellies to make a beautiful picture frame background to hang some family photos on the wall.

I think they're beautiful. I have been waiting, for what seems like forever, for them to come to my lss. I've known for a week now what I want to do with them. Inside was a collage of favorite papers, no photos, just papers, with some flourishes in the corners and some other little details at each overlapping junction. I love it!

Oh My I know exactly what I would do. My best friend for over 30 years moved to Missouri to be close to her grandchildren. She had lived in Conn for 60 years so it was a big move. She brought her first house by herself.

Two years later she is sick. She is on kidney machine.

Six of her closest friends are writing a letter to her and sending one picture to me and I am going to make a scrapbook for her.I was going to use Webster Papers but three of the women want something else. They do not know what they want. This is a great choice for us.

Thanks for introducing me to this paper

Wow. These are fab! I would make something so extraordinary. The patterns are so different, I think I would make something unique with each. An altered journal, a keepsake box and lining, CD cases for home-burned CDs to share with my friends, a collection of framed art to tuck into unexpected corners around the house. I would probably hoard them, take them out and daydream with them. ~ky

I am working (always a work in progress) on a 42x36 collage wallhanging that represents me, my family and our home. The fleur de lys would be super cool and go with the colors. And the bird would be cute in a big tree behind a 3-D house that I am currently covering. Even if I do not win, I just won with a great idea - Thanks!

Peggy said...

Wow, these papers are gorgeous! I have to say, I'm amazed that each and every scrapper has a definite idea what to use them for ... I hate to admit this, but I don't have a clue! I usually start from a picture, then I search for matching papers and embellies. The whole LO depends on the mood of the picture and the mood I'm in the day I'm working on it. One thing is certain though, I would find use for them for sure, sooner rather than later I bet!

Actually I am working on a "brilliant" (at my age I can say that) inspiration I have had which will involve stitching templates and recycling. More than likely I will find out someone else already figured out-but I'm still proud of myself.
This collection is gorgeous-anyone would be thrilled to win it-myself
included. My youngest son is getting married in Dec. and I have lots to scrap of the plans.
