Five for Friday: All Dressed Up with a Challenge To Go!

A happy day-after-Christmas to you, friends! I hope your celebrations were festive and fun and that Santa was very good to you this year!

Is it time to be thinking of the new year yet? I know that once one holiday passes, I'm gearing up for the next, so I hope you've got some time to consider these classic but trendy New Year's Eve outfits from Ann Taylor and White House Black Market.

Now, before you start scrolling, keep in mind that I am aware that these are size 6 models in skinny little dresses that any of us would just love to don for our New Year's Eve festivities...in a world I don't currently live in. Frankly, not only would these not fit me, but they show a lot more skin than I personally am comfortable showing, I couldn't afford most of them, and besides, my idea of a perfect New Year's Eve is driving up to Snowbird (a local ski resort) with my hubby and a bottle of wine and watching the torchlight parade and the fireworks--all of which requires putting on a lot more clothes than what you'll see here.

No offense to you girly-girls who love to play dress-ups and party girl, of course.

I do, however, offer these pretty little pretties not just as delightful delights that one could wear to that moxie fab New Year's party next Wednesday, but also as some trendy inspiration for our next Moxie Fab World challenge. So ready, get set, scroll!

I don't know about you, but I find these fashions very inspiring and I'd love to see what kinds of cards you can make using one of these dresses as inspiration. Just like Paper Crafts does in its regular column, Get Inspired, your challenge is to take something from one of these dresses and incorporate it into your card. For example, if I were to make a card based on the Lace Dress, I might divide the card into two with a black transparency on the top, white on the bottom, and a black sheer ribbon along the seam. I would, of course, add a sentiment such as Best Wishes, and turn it into a wedding card.

As another example, I might be inspired by the Champagne Ruffle Dress and begin with a cream card base, add a taupe stripe at the top, and something white but textured at the bottom. I might add the sentiment, You're Always in Style and give it to one of my girl friends.

Ready to play? If so, name your project Challenge #5 and upload your project to the Moxie Fab World Group by no later than midnight on Monday, January 12 and I'll select some winners to win a moxie fab prize.

If you have any questions on this either leave me a comment or send me an e-mail at cedvalson@ckmedia.com.

Happy weekend everyone! I hope it's safe and sound!

Question about the Moxie Fab Group Gallery ... is there a better way to navigate to see the cards just for this challenge? I don't see link to move to a specific page in the gallery? I always have to start at page one and move my way through page by page (which is getting more cumbersome as the gallery grows). I also couldn't find a help feature on the CK website, so I'm posting it here. Thanks.

Oh this looks like another fun one! Fashion is always a fun inspiration!

I was wondering a few of the same things as Stef...about there being an easier way to find projects for the current challenge.

Thanks for your comments, ladies! To answer your questions about having to scroll through the gallery to see the projects, unfortunately, the answer is there is currently no other way than to go through all the pages. I do know, however, that our website is undergoing massive design changes, and I'm hoping that this will be one functionality (or lack thereof) that will change. Sorry for the frustration, ladies, believe me, I feel your pain!

I just signed up for the CK website but it wouldn't let me log in - keeps coming up with some sort of error. So here is my card for challenge #5 on my blog:

Will try again over the next few days to get onto the CK website...

I am so sorry for the trouble on the website, friends. If you can't get it loaded up (please keep trying), either leave me a message here with your blog address or send it directly to me at cedvalson@ckmedia.com. As Winnie the Pooh would say, "Oh, bother!"

No worries, we'll work around it however we need to, because, as they say, the show must go on!
